Fosshotel's property is in a great location and is easy walking distance to everything in Stykkisholmur. The onsite restaurant was great for breakfast and even helped us make pack lunches to take with us when we left for the day. The staff was friendly and helpful

Due to the weather we were unable to drive from Akureyi as we had planned. I called first thing in am to explain the 2 main bridges were closed and the hotel we were leaving recommended we should not drive as it was not safe. The hotel will not refund our money and were very rude when I called that afternoon to discuss. The manager the following Tuesday would not approve a refund. This hotel lacks customer service and does not care about the safety of their customers.
I highly would highly discourage this hotel.

This hotel is not on par with other Icelandic hotels of its class. It is not as nicely appointed, has deferred maintenance, and no in-room coffee. It is lacking in cleanliness.

This hotel is in a quiet little town that was walkable. There is a Restaurant to eat in the hotel, or it is very close to a handful of restaurants.
