A little gem
Posted 11 Feb 2024 on HotelsA nice surprise. Staff are excellent. Professional. Friendly. Courteous . The current building works do not disrupt. The staff members appear to multi task. Reception, bar, restaurant, house keeping. The dining/bar/lounge space is warm and friendly and huge. Wood burner is always going. Restaurant serves remarkably good food allbeit a short menu as 50% of selection are burgers and 25% parmies. But its all well prepared and efficiently produced. Often one or two daily specials. Bedrooms are fine. Bedding is comfortable. Actual rooms are dated and probably 3 star motel grade. Bathrooms pretty good and appear to have had a makeover.

As an EV owner, I really appreciate the availability of using the Lodge's charger at the end of a long drive.
Location by the lake is wonderful. Rooms are comfortable, restaurant is good and staff are very helpful.
Hopefully, the new accommodation being built now will have better climate control (cooling as well as heating) and soundproofing than the old rooms.
