We loved our stay here, lovely big room with great view. Breakfast was very nice with lots to choose from

Windows in the room do not open, aircon doesn't work despite being sold with the room

Felt like i was not wanted . Only one member of staff said hello . Check in took ages . Went to bar to get 2 drinks had been acknowledged by barman but when a group of 10 people turned up he ignored me and served them instead. No apology or anything . I felt like as just a couple we were not really wanted . The staff seemed more interested in big groups than just individual people or couples . I WILL NOT BE STAYING HERE AGAIN . I STAYED AT THE ALVERSTONE EARLIER IN WEEK AND THAT IS 10 TIMES BETTER. ALSO STAYED AT THE LEONARDO HOTEL SOUTHAMPTON BIG HOTEL LIKE THIS ONE BUT FELT WELCOME AND NEEDED STAFF FRIENDLY ALWAYS SAID HELLO .

Found the check-in laborious not helped by the staff who couldn’t find our details we booked with Expedia and made us feel as though we’d made a mistake not booking direct
Eventually got to our room but was moved to another room after complaining as this room was noisey

The hotel is very conenient to the royal shapespeare's threatre and shops etc. The breakfast is lovely with a good choice of what to eat. The view from the sitting area outside and in, over look the river which is lovely.
