The rooms are NOT what they look like on the website. We booked Seaview but you could hardly see the view out of the window. Very dirty carpet and in general, not clean.

It's a dog friendly hotel and the carpet in my room was filthy with animal stains

There was a problem with our booking. We booked and paid on 31st December and after a 5 hour drive to the hotel with a baby and a dog didn't want to hear that I hadn't booked and that there were no rooms available. Luckily there was a no-show and we were given a twin room. Also, the booking was found on the computer. The staff, especially the South African lady on reception, were very friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel is superb. Overlooking a beach and a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. We were happy with our room. A little outdated but to update 300 rooms would cost several million I guess! Reception, dining room, and seating areas are very nicely furnished and decorated. We had a lovely weekend in the hotel.

Property need update refurbishment. everything is old and floor squeaky ,you can hear your neighbours walking aroung .

Certainly handy for Porthminster beach and a short walk into the town, with easy free parking out front. Staff polite and friendly but hotel is very tired and our room was shabby. Decor, carpets and curtains very dated and worn. Bathroom sink was cracked and repaired with silicon, shower tap was damaged and difficult to adjust to maintain temperature, with only half a shower screen. As such, we decided to eat in St. Ives cafes and didn’t eat anything in the hotel so can’t comment on food. Disappointing.
