Overall, a pleasant stay, but...
Posted 9 Jan 2023 on HotelsWe stayed at The Shelley Point Hotel & Spa for two nights and overall enjoyed our stay, however, think there could be one or two improvements made.
We had great customer service at the spa and in the Cattle Baron restaurant, however, the service at reception and in the Doreatha restaurant could do with improvement - very slow and not particularly helpful/knowledgeable about the amenities and menus.
The pool was packed out all day, so we visited the nearby beach which was great - free shuttle from the hotel, beach towels and umbrellas, a small tuck shop, a volleyball net, and the option to do a kayak tour.
The spa was reasonable and we enjoyed using the sauna, steam room, and hydro pool. The team was excellent and very friendly and accommodating. The hydro pool area however could do with a little bit of maintenance (tiles coming off, windows having a good clean, broken bits on door fixed).
The breakfast buffet was plentiful however only having one buffet station at the far end of the restaurant resulted in queues snaking through the hallway area and round tables, and waiting times for cooked foods. The quality of the food was good though.
The room was very comfortable and well-kitted out with tea/coffee-making facilities, a large bath, toiletries & air-con. Nice touches of free biltong and golf shirts.
We will come back again but hope some improvements have been made to the service.
