Charming hotel but the service is not five stars, the staff seemed new and inexperienced. Concierge was slow to respond by email and sometimes did not respond at all. This is not a busy hotel. The restaurant food was very basic with a small selection of small bites and nothing substantial to eat. Housekeeping was outstanding but the rooms themselves are dark, uncomfortable, and full of mosquitos. Make sure you rent a car through the hotel so you can drive up to your room. Public transportation or taxis are not a realistic option. The hotel is location in a quiet part of the island far from any attractions and the beach it is located on is rocky and unlike the other white sand beaches. The hotel pool was very dirty because they had just thrown a pool party the day we arrived. There are nice areas to sit by the beach and by the pool, but with slow service and not much on the menu. Basically the same limited options as room service. The staff was warm and friendly but lacked the finesse of a luxury hotel. This is a more of a casual, beach-house type accomodation and not a high-end boutique hotel. Maybe better for a group of friends or solo traveler.

Whilst the staff and service was great, the hotel itself is an eye sore. The beds are uncomfortable, there is very little to do on offer at the hotel itself and the dining options were horrible.

Lots of bugs, very little minibar, no power

Posted 2 May 2022 on Hotels
From when we checked in the experience was average at best. Average is fine when you are paying average prices, but at St Barths pricing, this was a horrible value. Cockroaches everywhere, mosquitos bit my wife no fewer than 8 times. That's just the first night. Second night, after complaining about the roaches, found 2 dead on the floor, one dead in the shower and one more I had to kill as he ran for cover. That's the bugs...lets turn our attention to what they called the Mini bar. 4 cokes, 2 bottles of apple juice (that one was already drank out of) and one bottle of water. Our last night, WE HAD NO POWER. For a what I paid for my first car a night! I realize it was the only hotel left on the Island, seemed like it.

Dear Guest, We are really sorry to read the issues you have faced and deeply regret that they were not shared with our team during your stay. This would have allowed us to solve them immediately and improve your experience. Like every hotel on the island we are weekly treating our resort against bugs as we are in a tropical environnement. Our mini bar offer is limited, but the room service offers a wider range of beverages. We do take good note of your comment and will ensure these points get definitively adressed.

All front desk staff members have been cheerful, pleasant and extremely helpful (thank you, Katya, and others whose names we can’t remember) who called for dinner reservations, found rental car, provided first aid for minor scratches, etc. The hotel is right on the beach. The dining room is lovely, overlooking the water. The breakfast (included) offerings are sumptuous. I’d recommend this hotel to others. Having sung all the praises, there are a few minor blemishes that render it 4 stars instead of 5. Upon checking, we promptly found the mini refrigerator was leaking water and the safe box was not working. The handsome maintenance man Guillaume quickly came to replace both. Our bathroom wash sinks (both) were clogged late one night. It was after 10pm after we came back from dinner. I wasn’t able to properly brush my teeth that night. These things happen, but one wouldn’t expect at a hotel at $1400/night. Also, the electric hot water pot and coffee pot were placed in the bamboo armoire where there is no electric outlets. There is no place in room where one can properly place them to use them other than putting on the floor (how we used the first time). We wound up “hacking” the room by moving a long wooden bench hidden under the bathroom sinks to put it against the wall under the TV (on the wall). There is room in that space for the hotel to put a long dresser (or credenza) to make it functional. A ceiling fan would be nice (sea breeze cools the room at night).

The beach has a rough ride which makes it hard to swim, but the sounds of the waves can be soothing. The property itself is excellent! Warning the property is steep so it can be hard to walk if you don’t have the right shoes.
