Nice small hotel with nice beer garden. The food at dinner and breakfast (included) was very good.

Lovely location

A very German establishment in a lovely location. I remember a morning coffee with cream even though asked for milk, but a really wonderful location even off-season.

Really lovely staff & service with an added bonus of being next door to a fantastic winery. The breakfast was amazing & great value for money.

Great hotel if you plan to stay for couple days to see Rhein river. We spent 2 nights and were absolutely satisfied. Staff, restaurant and food are all excellent. Breakfast is great by both food and presentation. I highly recommend to stay in it.

Quiet and comfortable

Posted 6 Aug 2018 on Hotels
The hotel was closed when we arrived but a quick call to the number on the door and we had our key from the key safe and we were in. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was not open on the one day of the week that we were there but we enjoyed a delicious dinner overlooking the Rhine river at the local and very homely Italian restaurant about 100m from the hotel. An after diner stroll affoprded views of the Marksburg castle across the river. We were there on an unusually hot and humid day (35C) and as this hotel does not have air conditioning, we were offered a fan. That along with windows that opened made for a comfortable night on what could have otherwise been rathed sticky. Breakfast was a typical German spread with cereals, breads, meats and cheeses along with juices and tea/coffee. Spay is a small and quiet town which probably does not pick up much of the passing tourist trade but small towns have character and give a different perspective to the larger towns. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and keen to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Overall a very enjoyable experience
