The property itself was great, however the surroundings at times were a little sketchy as a sign of the current times in San Francisco. There are efforts to make it better that I hope continue.

It’s a beautiful hotel BUT our room was extremely small, the bed was really uncomfortable (hard bed) and every time the AC turned on it would make a noise the entire time, it woke me up the entire night.

I loved the location as it was close to the SFMOMA which is where I wanted to go. The negative is the that the neighborhood is a little run down but it was close enough to other places so I could uber or take public transit to.

After staying with Hampton for years I have never stayed in one so far from the Hampton standard. This hotel is not safe, there are many homeless and people loitering around the building. Also I was advised there are no food locations that will deliver to this hotel, and if you want food delivered you have to use a deliver service like Uber Eats. Later we found out that is not true. In addition the staff did not provide the standard information expected at a Hampton, what the Wi-Fi is, where the gym is located, etc. The room is 190sq ft not the Hampton normal, there is an odd smell to the room and the hotel itself, also the only view was of an alleyway. The security is further compromised with a this hotel sharing a wall with an abandoned building. Oh and on security... there is none per the front desk staff. One small word on the breakfast, which we were grateful they had, but it was the same powder eggs and sausage patties for 3 days in a row. My recommendation is to avoid at all cost! this location is not a Hampton and you should not expect Hampton's standard of stay here.

This place is terrible. Disgusting. The room is depressing. The window was facing a bricks wall which made it very depressing to be in the room. Hotel parking is $65 and the public parking which is 7 min walk, was $45. The keys to the room didn't work so we had to wait for someone to come with us and open the room door every time we arrived. Garbage at the entrance of the hotel and everywhere. This place should cost not more then $30 per night. Also they over charge us $150 and I have to dispute and fight the get my money back. Very very bad experience.

To be clear this Hampton Inn location is right in the SF Tenderloin District. It's not that you are literally dashing the tents, sleeping bags and sidewalk disasters. They do employ a Doorman but the hours are very limited. Forget it if you are on a early schedule. You will be acosted by a Street petson. Its definitely to the level of unsecure. Their e card elevator system is weak at best. Your just supposed to figure out where to tap your e card to some unmarked reader. Forget it if there is low to no lighting. You would never see the black card reader. After you tap your e card, on the reader, you have to select your floor destination in a timely fashion. Too slow, start over. After multiple times of this dog and pony show it gets old really fast. Having your e card recommissioned doesn't help. Same Ol' Same Ol'. But the worse part of this Hampton Inn. The unwillingness of the check in staff to pivot if their systems go down. We had a confirmed, paid for reservation that they were able to see, validate the room designation but not commission the e room keys as their system went down. We asked if Management would e key us in, but that was not something they were willling to do. Their solution; come back hours later and try again. They did keep our luggage and allowed in/ out rummaging into the luggage privelages.
