We had to extend our trip by an additional day and it was well received and accommodated.
Breakfast and Dinner were homemade and delicious.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Garten. We were there on Christmas Day. The pictures on the website made it a little difficult to see what the rooms would look like, so we were pleasantly surprised by them. They are a little old fashioned, but they are clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful breakfast and conversation with the hosts. We would recommend this property and return if our plans ever take us back there. The room did not smell like smoke, which after a week in the Balkins, we learned that a truly non-smoking room was a rare find!

The owner is very rude and at one point turned his back on me due to not speaking Croatian or German, he made absolutely no effort to communicate.
I asked for an iron, and was told to return the following morning, i showed up next morning to receive the same treatment by what I think was his wife, after much confusion. She took my shirt and ironed it in their room? Which was nice.
All in all it is a very interesting hotel, had the staff been more welcoming and friendly I would have had a better experience.
If I am ever in this town again I will not be staying here

Location: Nothing nearby seemed to be in residential area
Room was dark,dated and stuffy due to no outside air.

Unique Hotel with loads of character!

Pros: This hotel was within walking distance to the friends we were visiting.
Location: This hotel is in a quiet neighborhood setting in the hills, it is only about a 15 minute drive to the City Center and many other attractions.
I believe this hotel is family owned and is very unique! The staff are friendly, professional and helped make our stay very pleasant. The rooms are a bit small, but not unusual for Europe. For the price, you can't get a better deal. I would highly recommend this hotel.
