My friend and I stayed here for 1 night just for a catch up and chill. We had such a brilliant time and there was also a Robbie Williams tribute on that evening. He was brilliant and such a fund evening with everyone up dancing! The food was amazing and the staff first class. On Sunday we had a treatment in the spa then used the facilities before heading back home. We would definatley return, Thank you Hempstead House Hotel

Not having up-to date door keys to allow you to access the room I was unable to access my room on two occasions as when the staff had had to let me in with their master key because the keys would not read the door for two days. This has happened they had to give me an extra Metal key to open the door as the electronically key would not work, then the keythat the manager made me aware of that was 20 years old had snapped when I tried to open the door with the key the manager was very rude I felt very pushed distressed and wanted me to pay for this when I simply explained that I should not have been in the convenience of being in the situation where I had to use the key in the first place and I said you had pointed out that you have been using these keys for the last 20 years. Do you not think that they may have been worn due to wear and tear or a faulty key nevertheless I wouldn’t be in the situation, where I would have to use the key to open the door, if the electronic keys would work in the first place and had been up-to-date and not faulty I had found the this lady manager which was around 60 to 70 years old would blonde, curly kind of hair, very rude and very very arrogant. When I explained I would not be happy to pay £50 for a new key as I did not feel at fault also, she had she had pressed me quite a lot asking me squinting her eyes. Whilst I would not normally wish to comment adversely on our guests, I feel I need to explain the content of this review. The family made a last minute reservation with us and sadly were extremely disrespectful of our services and facilities. We allow children to use the swimming pool during certain times and ask that they are supervised by an adult and behave in a respectful manner. The children of this family upset many other guests by jumping in and being very noisy and also using inflatables which we do not allow. The parents booked a table for our Valentine's Dinner on the 14th and did not arrive for their table, inspite of being called to ask if they were coming. We were fully booked that evening and could have sold the table but Mr Doran did not accept any responsibility for the no show, simply informing me on departure that they were late leaving their son's club. Their electronic keycard did not work on arrival, so they were given the physical key which they managed to break inside the lock. When I tried to explain this I was told that the lock was faulty and it was not their fault. I did not say that the key was 20 years old, I explained politely that we had been using these keys without any problems for 20 years. Mt Doran was exprtremely rude and offensive when he checked out, refusing to pay for any damages and barely gave me the opportunity to speak at all. They also left the room in a dreadful state on departure with marks on the walls and waste everywhere. We are not accustomed to having behaviour like this in the hotel and find it very distressing.

Lovely little spa hotel. Had the best massage and facial. So relaxing. Every member of staff I encountered were lovely and helpful. Nice little breakfast in the morning.

Enjoyable stay

We stayed for an evening, the facilities are nice, definitely needs more beds around the pool. The treatments were amazing and fantastic value which I highly recommend. It’s more an older couples retreat than for kids and thankfully we were an older couple.

Comfortable well appointed room. Has grown to quite a large hotel but retains a feeling of a small country house particularly in the old building. Nice pool & sauna facilities. Good breakfast included.

A warm welcome on a cold day.
