We enjoyed a laid back stay at this beachfront property with amazing sea views. The rooms were clean and functional and bed was comfortable. We enjoyed drinks and meals in a relaxed dining room/bar with a background of soft jazz music, beach views and the sound of the waves. Menu featured fresh fish of the day, pasta dishes and great panini. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The owner, Aldo was on the premises daily and offered a late check at no extra charge as well as assistance booking electric golf cart transport. He and the staff were very kind and attentive. If you enjoy a relaxed vibe, easy access to lidos or free beach and a comfortable setting to unwind, I highly recommend this place. Location can’t be beat- right across from train station. Grazie mille Aldo and staff for an great stay!

Check in was outstanding. We were upgraded to a sea view room without even asking. The owner moved his car so I could park mine easily. The arancinis were soooooo good. Wonderful stay in a darling sweet Italian beach village. Staff was friendly and nice. Loved our time!

The hotel is very conveniently located to the train station and no noise can be heard. First floor has access to a large terrace , overlooking the famous Scilla's narrow straight, described by Homer. The owner is always present on site, helps with luggage, other requests (even with very limited English), arranges golf carts to get to the top part of Scilla. We felt safe. The disappointing feature has been a really vintage look of the property despite excellent new AC unit in our room which worked seamlessly. The room and it's bathroom were clean, hot water instant, the frig worked and there were some simple local selections of ham and cheese with bread and jams at breakfast on the terrace. But our experience was totally ruined by the presence of two strange, covered by old sheets couches on the terrace which, in our view, did not belong. Scilla is a special place steeped in history and is a living, fishing village, not just a tourist spot. Overall hotel choices are very limited, being mostly BBs. Younger people might overlook what to our standards had not amounted to be called even "shabby chic". At the same time, we understand the vintage building is part of the historic landscape, and it is up to the owners how they want it to look. We enjoyed "Lido Paradiso" nearby, kept clean and welcoming, and a local coffee and gellateria bar always open in the afternoon. Unfortunately, in October the closest fish restaurant worked only sporadically. Once we had lunch at "Pippo".

The location was good, on the beach side of the castle. A ten minutes walk to the more central area (marina). It appeared that the building may have once been a grand house. The large terrace overlooking the water was quite nice. However, the room I was in was rather dismal having a shaft window, poor lighting and in desperate need of renovation, frayed towels, etc. The tv, old style fat body, did not work and i had internet issues. Fortunately, the staff was nice and accommodating. And i was there for only one night.

Basic hotel, slightly over priced

Scilla is beautiful and this hotel was super central to the beach which is great. The breakfast was good - it's just not the best experience we have had.

Three of us stayed here recently, on holiday and enjoyed the relaxed/ laid back atmosphere, The owner/manager was particularly helpful, I have very little Italian. We arrived outside booking hours but were met with a smile. A tuk-tuk service can help you get around (remember to book it) and to get to the top of the village in heat is great. Next door is a little cafe, which is very useful for paninis etc at a fair price. On checking out we left our cases, until nearly 10 pm,(catching the overnight train), with no fuss, very helpful.
