Cosy Hotel on the outskirts of town.

Posted 6 Mar 2023 on Hotels
Leslie was very informative, guiding us regarding buses, restaurants and ski hire. Based on the hotels locality this was invaluable. The breakfast was sufficient. The hotel was warm and cosy but didn’t offer any access to refreshments at the end of the day so bear that in mind when coming down from the mountains.

Leslie and Mauro are so welcoming as hosts, it is very well located for skiing with a ski rental next door (also lovely people) and a short walk to the best ski lift (significantly quieter than those in the village) - easy to walk (10 mins) or drive (2 mins) to the village for dinner etc. Lovely resort for families and thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Great stay. Lovely area between Oulx and Sauze D'Oulx. Nice building and clean rooms. Lesley was very helpful. Would stay again if I am in the area.

Good value hotel a little out of town

Posted 21 Mar 2018 on Ebookers
Pros: Value for money, food at breakfast.
Cons: Taps in bathroom, hotter drinks at breakfast, maintenance of bathroom.
Location: Not far from ski lift, fairly long uphill walk to town, a couple of bars and restaurants within 5 - 10 minutes' walk.
ebookers info was inaccurate in several ways about my room - they may update this info in future in which case this will be out of date, but for now: my room had no balcony, no TV, no safe, no tea/coffee maker and no WiFi, all of which were advertised as being in all rooms by ebookers. However this is not the fault of the hotel. Good things: very reasonably priced, comfortable bed, clean, friendly staff (although 1 of the 2 I met could not speak any English - none), generally very good breakfast, quiet at night, enough hot water, allowed me to store my bag before and after check in. Be aware of: if you are skiing, the 5-ish minute walk to the lift is pleasant (through the old village) and not steep, fine in boarding gear but less so in ski boots. I only skied 1 day so did not investigate the possibility of leaving gear at a hotel near the lift, but I believe this is possible. The walk to town is pretty steep and there is no way to avoid the main road, where the traffic is relentless and fast. You could probably get a taxi though. Hotel was not very warm (I found it comfortable but I don't feel the cold). There are no boot heaters in the ski room. Less good things: bathroom was in a separate room, not ensuite. Hot drinks at breakfast were lukewarm. Taps in the basin were basically unusuable, putting out thin spurts of water (used the bidet instead!). Recommend if you want a quiet place not far from the lift, but not so good if you want easy access to town.

Value for money

Much better than the reviews it has gotten. Small family driven establishment, very nice hosts. They try to help out with all sorts of things and even came and picked me up when I arrived late in evening at the train station (when no buses or taxis were available).

Decent enough and walkable.

A very decent 2 star Bed & Breakfast, that does what it says in the tin. The walk into town is not for the faint hearted. Etoile hotel nearby is a good place for dinner. The Jovenceux chairlift is walkable. My bed was comfy, room was warm and decent shower. For what I paid I was very happy. Mauro and his staff are all lovely. I stayed in a twin room, which was room 303, lovely view from balcony.
