Old world charm, frayed a little, but who cares!

Beautiful old world hotel, charming even though frayed around the edges. Room comfortable and well provisioned and spotlessly clean. Breakfast disappointing considering Euro12 charged. Staff very pleasant. Location excellent and peaceful.

Health spa hotel frequented by the elderly

Pros: Price, spa facilities, location
Cons: Rooms need to be four-star if this really is to be a four-star hotel.
Location: Right beside the arboretum and opposite the castle (superb collection of medieval maps) if you'd like to explore Sárvár as well.
Reasonable Danubius establishment, one of several spa hotels ranged around Sárvár. Half-board rates eminently affordable - decent breakfast too. Not a four-star, rooms something between two- and three-star. Spa facilities good, massage treatments priced for the regular Austrian custom. Excellent staff. Right beside the arboretum and opposite the castle if you'd like to explore Sárvár as well.

Danubius Hotel Sarvar

Location: Superb location, nestled in a botanical garden in the middle of town
This hotel was built in the eighties by the Austrians mainly for Austrians back then as a health spa. It is geared for the more mature crowd seeking relief from aches and pains in the hot spring pools and the wide selection of treatment options rather than the modern day traveller. The good: staff is very competent and friendly, doing their very best to make up for the aging infrastructure and dated decor. Location is superb. Not so good: no A/C in room ( unforgivable in 35 C + heat,) very old bed in room, tv set also a relic not to mention the programming. WiFi Internet connection is unreliable, signal may simply take a break time to time. It is time for the chain to seriously update this otherwise wonderful location.

Einrichtung teilweise kaputt- Badewannenbeschichtung abgebröckelt, große schwarze Flecken, Schränke nicht schließbar, die Schiebetüren rollen zurück und sind sehr laut Alles ist ziemlich verbraucht und das im Superior Zimmer. Die Speiseauswahl ist im Vergleich vom früher sehr zurückgefallen, allerdings ist die Küche sehr scmackhaft. Doch einige Mängel. Kalte Eierspeise auf der Wärmeplatte, offensichtlich vom Vortag. Brot und Gebäck nicht frisch. etd. Dafür die Bedienung erstklassig und sehr freundlich.
