Feels like crashing at your grandfather's place
Posted 11 Feb 2018 on HotelsLovely older guy owner, very sweet and welcoming, basically just renting out the rooms of his house. Cooks a huge breakfast in the morning, couldn't possibly finish all of it, so bring your appetite!
Doesn't speak much English but enough to get by.
Area was very cold at this time of year but there were heaters in each room and electric blankets on the beds - plus a TON of blankets, I didn't want to leave my bed.

Posted 13 Aug 2017 on HotelsGreat! Will definitely come back here! Near to otaru station. There's a slope but it's manageable. The place is not so easy to find as there's no unit number. See my photo and look out for this lane and then go to the house with the 'L' letter. That's the place. The condition may not be as good but the place is very clean. Clean bedsheets and toilet. Service is awesome! The bath and breakfast. Wow.

Posted 26 Sep 2019 on HotelsThe reviews are correct - you'll never get hungry in this property! I spent two nights in Otaru and I was the only guest in this property. At first, I had a chance to stay in the 4-bed room (or maybe there was some misunderstanding?) and In the end I slept in the 2-bed room, which was also very nice. The weather was not very good: typhoon, heavy rain and strong wind... But thanks to that, I had more time to spend with the owner. We talked about sports and watched Volleyball Women's World Cup together. It's shame that my Japanese is poor or I'd love to discuss with him more and ask him more questions. Overall I enjoyed my stay, thanks to the owner - he really reminds me of my father. Hope "Lao Tou" stay healthy and hope those "腫れもの" are nothing bad or serious.

建物自体は古いですが、とても手入れと気遣いの行き届いたお部屋でした。ご主人の作る朝食と話題のレパートリーは絶品です。

The owner Mr. L is very nice and full of hospitality. Prepared a very nutritious breakfast for travelers. I do feel warm hearted by the food and smiling. Thank you so much!!

약간의 언덕으로 올라가야합니다.
주인 할아버지께서 영어는 잘 못하시지만 굉장히 친절하십니다.
설명도 자세히 해주시고 배려도 해주십니다.
아침 식사시간에 사진 찍으셔서 크게 인쇄도 해주십니다.
다만 그런 배려가 불편하신 분들은 별로 입니다.
조식 식사도 정말 강추 합니다.
과일 5-6종류, 양배추 샐러드, 생선구이 한쪽, 계란말이, 돼지고기 구이 한쪽,
새우튀김 한 마리, 미소시루, 흰밥 나옵니다.
마룻바닥이라 좀 오래되어서 걸어다닐 때마다 삐걱거립니다.
한밤 중이나 새벽에 화장실 사용 시 신경쓰입니다.
화장실은 1층, 2층에 각 하나 씩 있으나
샤워장은 1층에 하나 있어서 조금 불편합니다.
호텔의 편리함과 정갈함을 원한다면 비추
할아버지의 다정한 마음과 맛난 아침을 즐기고 싶다면 강추.
