Quiet, comfortable with exceptional food & service

A beautiful green oasis with fantastic service. The grounds surrounding the hotel are magnificent. The room was spacious, very clean and had a lovely outdoor terrace with table and chairs. There was a parking area across the road, and they kindly let us check in early which was much appreciated. We had dinner at the hotel and it was superb as was the wine from the hotel's vineyard. We were there to visit Montecassino and the proprietor was helpful providing us with maps. I'd definitely recommend the hotel

The best hotel experience in Italy!

Posted 28 Jun 2018 on Hotels
This hotel experience was one of the best we have ever had. The hotel is absolutely beautiful! It is off the beaten path and it was one of the only places we felt like we truly experienced Italian culture without tourist areas. The service is incredible. Antonino and his staff opened the restaurant for us even though it was closed because we arrived late due to traffic and were hungry. Breakfast was the best we had in Italy with lots of options and everything tasted fresh and homemade. The service was top notch. The garden is beautiful and it is close to Montecassino Abbey - just 8 miles up the mountain. We are so grateful for this experience and we are already planning a trip to come back when we can!

ITALY'S HIDDEN TREASURE

Posted 26 Mar 2018
Pros: the personal service, food and attention to detail. Love the little dog onsite too!
Cons: bug spray for dinner guests dining in the courtyard/gardens, possibly more pillows in the room for us spoiled americans & softer mattresses :)
Location: Monte Cassino Abbey, Cassino, Valleluce
My family and I stayed here at Al Poggio di Casalucense back in August and truly enjoyed our visit. The owners are genuine people who take great pride in their establishment. By the end of our stay we felt like the owner was family and he had treated us as so. My family & I can not wait to someday return, I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area and need a retreat away from tourists. The gardens here are absolutely beautiful & the water fountains were very relaxing. At night the courtyard comes alive with magical twinkle lights and fire torches leading out to the gardens......We dined here outside one evening & it was a memory I will never forget! They host events here which I am sure are fantastic! Keep in mind that if you are prone to mosquito's please bring bug spray for this was the only negative. The food was delicious, my family particularly loved the seafood. Breakfast here was also lovely, and the host will prepare anything that you may desire. We cannot thank the owners enough for being so kind & taking great care of us! You should definitely stay here if you are visiting or at the very least dine at their wonderful restaurant! - Thanks again for everything! Sincerely, The Cece Family

Great Base For Exploring the Frosinone Region

Posted 20 Jul 2014
Pros: The owners were lovely and the gardens especially beautiful
Cons: The hotel is setup for special occasions (weddings) so is much bigger than can be used for tourists
Location: The hotel is close to Sant' Elia Fiumerapido, Bellmonte Castello, Cassino and Atina - lovely places to visit close by and in easy reach of the hills
My son and I stayed at Al Poggio (little hill/ knoll) for four days to explore our family roots in the Val di Comino in July 2014. It was a great place to relax in the countryside. The gardens were fabulous by day and night - big, shady and beautifully kept. The owners were lovely and very helpful and the rooms clean and cool.
