Paid over $600 US for three people, decided to leave San Pedro earlier than planned due to harassment by hawkers, emailed Amelias explaining would not be checking in, told no problem, go to hotel in person before arrival date for full refund. Went two days before, was told by owners wife there was no record of my booking, no record of my payment or my name, the rooms were already re-rented, and to discuss it with her husband, who was out of country and unavailable.

Said that they didn’t have our reserrvation and wanted to charge us more. My husband had to be very aggressive to get them to honour our booking. The guesthouse is quite run down. Toilet seat was not connected to toilet. This experience put a damper on our trip. Not good value for money

Cheap if that's the overall goal

Posted 1 Jun 2017
There a few good things about this place, its close to the city square, the A/C worked, and it was inexpensive. The bad is almost awful, water is bad even for Belizean standards, reservations were mismanaged, the bunk room is a sweltering stagnant less than desirable room.

Dirty hotel, stay away

Posted 20 Feb 2017
Room was not cleaned once over a five night stay. There are much nicer places to stay for a cheaper price in San Pedro.

Good on a budget

Good for budget travel. Close to everything, this is "downtown." Bathroom and shower are outside of the room and shared, more like a hostel than a hotel.

La Isla

For the price, it was a good value. Located attached to an Indian restaurant, the owners were nice and easy to work with. Slight english language barrier but workable. This is NOT a resort but rather a safe place to store your stuff while you are out. About a 2 minute walk from the airport

Skid row quality

Posted 28 Jan 2016
Pros: Centrally located. Reviews we read did not match what we rented. Good cable and WiFi.
Cons: This place has potential, the wood staircase and ceiling is beautiful. Cleanliness seriously needs to be addressed if they want westerners to stay.
Location: It is located in the center of town on top of an Indian Restaurant.
We spent the first 2 days looking for new accommodation (on a non-refundable room). The walls, windows and fixtures were filthy. There was not any hot water. Toiletries are toilet paper, a bar of soap and 2 towels. The bed had clean sheets one bottom and 1 on top nothing more.. We passed through old kitchen area (unused) and dirty cupboards were full of rodent droppings. When we spoke with Expedia to hopefully resolve issues we were told they were unable to contact owner. We paid for 12 unused days!
