Very friendly staff who were super accommodating — they extended checkout time by 90 minutes when I needed to work remotely from a quiet place. The breakfast was nice -- make-your-own eggs and pancakes -- and the common areas were great to hang out in. One word of caution: They didn't have a record of my Expedia reservation when I arrived, so if at all possible, call and confirm they've received it.

Frustrating

Posted 16 Apr 2018
I know this is by no means an actual hotel, however, they should have their systems in place. We got to the hostel at 3:30am and they had no clue about our reservation, I showed the Expedia confirmation and the representative looked into the system to finally let us know there were no room available for us. We had to leave at almost 4am to try and find accommodations in another hotel. If you are booking this place, make sure you contact them before, that was my first red flag when I called earlier that day and nobody seemed to know anything about my reservation but at the end they confirmed it was good.

A little hard to find but worth the effort

Posted 2 Mar 2018
Pros: The staff and the guests are exactly the people whom you'd want to meet.
Cons: Signage to help identify the hotel easier once you're standing in front at night. Also, better directions since navigating CR can be a challenge.
Location: Didn't get to explore too much but it seems that you have everything you would need within walking distance.
This place surprised us pleasantly. The price is amazing for the experience we got, bringing our Costa Rica adventure to an end with a fantastic experience. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. When we arrived, we were exhausted from our trip and just wanted to sleep, but since we met such great people here, we ended up only getting 3 hours of sleep before we had to leave for our early flight. Wished we could have stayed a few more nights, it would surely have led to some very enjoyable moments.. If you come here with a smile on your face, you will surely leave with an even bigger one.

Low cost, close to buses, and San Pablo Mal

Breakfast was good with coffee, tea, pine apple, banana, make your own egg and pan cake. Party outside was too noisy Friday night.

More Like a Flop House...Never Again!

Posted 13 May 2017
I am well travelled and have stayed at many Hostels. While the staff made up of "20 Somethings" were cordial, don't expect much. The smell must and marijuana penetrates the air: I, myself, saw no real breakfast, and the location is very far out of the way for most activities. My room had bed bugs causing me to dump most of my clothes prior to coming home, although they did provide another room. Also, there is no hot water. Finally, the music was so loud it was difficult to sleep. Maybe I'm just too old for this type of stay. If you arenin your 20's, looking for a crash pad, maybe it will work out fine for you.
