Nice stay for cheap price. If you like boutique style rooms. Great views on the top floor level.

Beautiful hotel with walking distance to Gas Lamp restaurants and Petco Park to attend the Padres game. No shampoo in the shampoo dispenser. Pillows were hard and uncomfortable. We had to pay $86 for Destination fee and taxes, and $59 for parking so be sure to add that into cost of stay. Nostalgic and very clean.

Unfortunately, we had a room that overlooked 4th Ave. It was loud all night

BL/UF: Great for the price and location, but don’t expect resort amenities. The building is a gorgeous classic hotel with a beautiful interior courtyard. The rooms are tastefully updated and decently spacious. Just don’t expect miracles from the shower. The “Salt and Whiskey” restaurant had good food, but the highlight was the beverages. For breakfast, though, I’d recommend a walk to 4th and J Street for Achilles. The neighborhood is a good distance away from the highways and walkable to East Village, Petco Park, and the convention center.

Nothing special about this hotel other than its location. No room safe, our room was in a separate building which could be accessed from the street. Our door had obviously been broken into, or at least attempted, and had not been fixed well. Did not feel especially safe, unfortunately. The location can not be beat, though, especially for attending a ball game at Petco.

It sounds like the hotel's location was definitely a standout feature, particularly for attending events at Petco Park. Very noisy room after I asked for a quiet room. It smells in my room with old building smell. Staff not friendly when we I ask for complimentary water.

We were welcomed by friendly, polite staff who answered our questions. Check in was fast, as well as check out. We received complementary drinks which was nice. The hotel is beautiful and clean. Unfortunately I didn’t get to enjoy too much since we were there for an event. I would definitely book it again if I go back to San Diego. The only minor issue I encountered was the hot water, as it took a while for it to run warm. And unless you are paying valet parking you need to park elsewhere, down the street.
