More a guesthouse than a hotel

Posted 21 Jun 2012
Pros: The food and the welcome
Cons: nowhere to sit outside
Location: in a quiet village close to the Rila Mountains
More a guesthouse than a hotel. The rooms were simple but clean and the beds were comfortable- a tea making tray was provided- A rarity in Bulgaria! The evening meals were ample, home cooked and very tasty, the best food we had during our stay in Bulgaria, but there is no menu or choice. The breakfasts were equally substantial and good. The welcome was very warm, the landlady spoke only Bulgarian, but was very willing to try to communicate and help and we managed with phrasebook and dictionary. At the end of our week's stay we felt more like friends than paying guests. Our only disappointment was that ther was nowhere to sit outside in the rather neglected back garden. We would warmly recommend the All Seasons Mountainview to people who would like to enjoy a taste of simple Bulgarian village life in beautiful countryside with the Rila mountains close by.
