We visited this property while visiting for Salerno for a family communion. I reached out to the owner ahead of time to ask about some basics like tissues for the bathroom and some extra sheets (as we have a child). The owner advised me rudely that this was not part of the detail page and is therefore extra. He also threatened to cancal our reservation! Further, though it stated 'daily housekeeping' on the detail page, it's apparently only done every 3rd day, per communication with him. However in our case, even that didnt get done. The unit itself is in fact a room with an ensuite inside a flat. It's not an actual B&B in the sense of a hotel atmosphere. When we entered the unit we were instructed to be quiet and not make noise. This made for an uncomfortable experience with a child coming back late every night. Last but not least, there was was massive, hammering construction noise starting at 8 am from 2 floors up. This wasn't communicated with us ahead of time at all, but yet we received pushback on basic requests. On the days there wasn't construction you will be sure to be awoken by moving furniture at around the same time every morning. I need to further clarify that 'local breakfast' is in fact just a pastry and coffee at a local neary bar. They were quite friendly but do not think that this will be anything fancy (or even healthy).

This booking started badly and couldn't have ended any other way. Yet we tried to resolve it amicably beforehand.Before check-in, free make-up remover wipes, face wipes, Cleenex and sanitizing spray are requestedextra sheets and more.Guests are advised that these are not services provided. When you go to a restaurant and order a first and second course, do you ask for free water, beers, dessert, bitters and coffee?Furthermore, a detail not to be overlooked is that the lady booked and paid for 2 and not 3 people. No children were mentioned in the booking.Because I felt the reservation got off to a bad start, we offered the husband a full refund before the check-in day to give them a chance to find a property that accommodated all their extra requests. They didn't accept and came anyway.Another detail not to be overlooked. Guests arrive at 1:30 in the night.Since it is a bed and breakfast and not an hotel with staff h24 we're close in the night so t to prevent guests from missing the first night, we handed over the keys to their room to the husband's sister who lives on site, demonstrating the utmost trust in the guests.We wanted to refund you in advance to avoid this review because given the expectations we were 100% sure that it was not the solution for you, you came, you complained about everything you didn't like. And what did you do when you checked out? Have you called Expedia support to request a refund? we wanted to refund you before check in. It's too convenient to ask for a refund upon check out after 4 days with a reservation paid for 2 and instead there were 3 of you. We didn't even ask you for the tourist tax for 3 people (4 nights). Fortunately we have numerous positive reviews. Have a nice day.

The owners were very healpful. We could leave our luggage early at the property. It was clean.

Property was conveniently located 12 minutes by walk from the tourist port of Salerno. Staff greets you during check-in, clean room, spacious with private bathroom. Breakfast that is included is just what you need to start the day, a coffee and a pastry. Would recommend to anyone who doesn’t mind the 12 minute walk to the port. Great value.

Very clean and comfortable. Good location close to the train station. The host was very helpful and we highly recommend Portafortuna Lucky Charm when staying in Salerno. The only suggestion I would make is that they should have late check in without charging extra since many travellers can’t make it early enough because of the transportation schedules.

The place was very well located within walking distance of the train station, very clean and comfortable. We were very well taken care of and appreciated the communication with our hosts. The only suggestion I would have is to be able to use the elevator to the first floor since we had to carry our luggage downstairs using the stairs. One thing that would be nice to have, is late check in without being charged extra for the service which was the case in this instance since many travellers can’t make it early in the day because of the transportation scheduling which was our case. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and highly recommend Portafortuna Lucky Charm. Molto grazie!
