Wonderful small hotel in the heart of rural France. Room was very comfortable, staff very attentive and a great continental breakfast. Plenty of space to park on the street street outside hotel. Great place for my two night stopover.

Lovely hotel in pretty village
Posted 17 Aug 2017
Pros: Relaxing atmosphere and excellent food and wine.
Cons: Some of the decor needs to be refreshed in the bedrooms and lounge area. We couldn't get a decent cup of tea at breakfast.
Location: The hotel was situated in a pretty village in a quiet location. There was ample parking and a reasonable distance from Brantome, Perigeux and Limoges.
We stayed here for three nights as we were celebrating a family birthday in the next village. This attractive hotel was unusual with quirky decor, amazing crockery and table ware. The food was excellent, fine dining indeed, and the wine list extensive. The staff were very friendly and attentive and made us feel welcome. The gardens were beautiful with plenty of room to sit and relax. There was also a swimming pool which looked very inviting but we didn't have time to try it out.
We would definitely stay here again.

Overnight stop on route to S.W. France

Pros: The restaurant is first class and eating on the terrace overlooking the lovely garden was perfect.
Cons: The décor, which is designer but dated
Lovely old family owned and run hotel with gorgeous garden (and pool) in quiet Dordogne village. Helpful staff, pleasant facilities. Just right for a stopover on a long journey. Have holidayed nearby years ago. St Saud is a good base for a Dordogne holiday.

Once nice
Posted 31 Aug 2015 on HotelsWe stayed for 3 nights and we're looking forward to the stay, the hotel is as eclectic as advertised and was once lovely but now is dated and shabby. The hotel is in need of an overhaul, the staff are trying to please and are effective

The Hostellerie Saintjacques - A must visit
Posted 14 Sep 2011 on HotelsWell what can we say....
Fantastic sums it up in a word!
The rooms and decor are somewhat quirky and the food is fantastically good value and of such quality normally associated with an exclusive (and expensive) restaurant - not regional village hotel.
If you enjoy good service and great food book it - you will not be disappointed.
