"Stayed here for one night in a multiple beds room. Room was spacious and had all we needed. I would definitely recommend opting for the lake view rooms as the view is great! Both members of staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay again."
"The friendliest staff I have ever encountered from those in reception and restaurant. No attitude just so friendly there to help. The most wonderful staff I have ever encountered "
"Lovely family run hotel with a modern interior vibe in an old town building. Super friendly staff. Excellent room quiet air conditioning a big plus. Restaurant food Excellent, we would definitely stay here again."
"The hotel is ideally situated - while not being in an immediately picturesque location, its proximity to the M6, A66 and Penrith North Lakes railway station make it the perfect base for exploring the beauty of the Lake District in one direction and Yorkshire in the other. The staff are excellent, particularly in the FYR restaurant: friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is equally impressive and the hotel itself is clean, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. "
"First time staying here it was fab and well situated for easy access to the lakes just of the A66. Was good value for money with outstanding service and food from Nikki and her small team. The room was small but functional and very clean, Super dog friendly and everything is thought of even a doggie menu. Will be staying again"
"From the simplicity of the free parking and check in, excellent grounds and communal areas, great breakfast service and efficient staff, a memorable, enjoyable 3 day stay."

"Lovely location. Keep in mind it's a service station hotel and there is no official restaurant. Just ensure your expectations are in line with what you're booking.
Room was decent and clean, if a bit tired.
House Martin nesting holes near the windows were a nice touch and good to watch.
View was great."
"Always a great stay at the Damson Dene. Natalya and her team do an amazing job to make you feel welcome and looked after. The food at dinner and breakfast always 10/10. "
"You really do pay for what you get. All of the staff from reception, bar staff and waiting on staff were extremely attentive, polite and professional.
The hotel has a premium price tag yet everything there from side tables, lamps and mirrors are all premium. The decor is respectful to the original building yet they have also managed to make the hotel new.
We drank in the bar, we ate in the restaurant, used the spa and booked treatments - it was exceptional.
We arrived home today and plan on booking this hotel for over Christmas. We loved it!"

The staff is excellent and very knowledgeable about all aspects of hospitality including gem places for guests."
"Very slick check-in with staff who clearly know their job, are all over the systems and clearly want you to have the best stay possible. Robes and slippers are available to use if visiting the pool or spa. Spacious, quiet room with tea/coffee making facilities and quality toiletries. Choice of pillows and large comfortable bed.
We ate in the restaurant both evenings. The food choice was wide, well cooked and presented invitingly. However, the waitress who served us both evenings obviously knew “the drill” of her role, but in reality was far from assisting you to have a positive dining experience. She was going through the motions and really gave the impression that she did not want to be there. She did neither take nor act on criticisms seriously, appearing not to care if you enjoyed your dining experience or not. She chewed , presumably, gum throughout the service and was extremely sullen at all times.
This is a very comfortable hotel and gives very good value for money."
