"What a great find! We had a fantastic stay—this hotel truly exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was included whicj was delicious. There was a full English option alongside pastries, waffles, cereals, and fresh fruit, which was a great surprise. The staff were attentive and welcoming throughout our stay. Our room was a lovely size, and the bathroom was particularly spacious with a great shower. The hotel is in a great location and only a short walk to the centre of the town. Overall, we were very happy and would definitely come back again."

Good location to explore the City, and some very nice local places to eat and drink in the evening. It was nice to have a hotel bar too."

"The breakfast was fantastic, fabulous choice of food and juices; staff were so helpful and attentive. Spa was a welcome treat, after a day of exploring the city; again, staff in spa were so helpful. Room, as rest of hotel, was spotless. The windows were rather old and hard to open ( to air the bathroom, after a shower), but the building is relatively old. The private parking was expensive, but only a short walk from the hotel and we knew the car was safe and secure. All in all, a wonderful stay at The Gainsborough, will definitely return; was a wonderful experience. "

"Traditional old establishment with many original features. Clean room, breakfast good, staff very polite and helpful. Having parking in bath was a plus. The location is also good proving the opportunity to walk down to the town, with the option to walk back or take the bus which stops right outside the door. Will we return - YES"
