Excellent little getaway

I loved the location and the atmosphere in the pub, it was very cosy.
The bathroom was a bit small.

Atmosphere, good service, tasty food, lovely room.
So, it's a bit careworn in places, but who cares when the location is wonderful.

Great cosy bar/lounge space with fab woodburner. Being old the stairs are narrow and incredibly steep. It was a struggle to go up/down with cases, even though both were cabin bag size. This needs to be made clearer on publicity.

Great service but needs more attention to detail.
Posted 11 Aug 2019 on HotelsAt first glance the room looked lovely but we soon realised that there was a slight lack of cleanliness and attention to detail: There were short black hairs on the toilet seat, six large spiders throughout our room and numerous webs, the curtains didn't fit the bedroom window properly, the curtains in the bathroom were very see through and the light above the bathroom mirror did not work. We were also woken up four times throughout the night by loud bangs, which turned out to be the slats in the bed falling out! The free WiFi was a big plus for us but unfortunately it did not work in our room. The television was miniscule but we didn't have time to watch it anyway so that wasn't an issue for us personally.
However, the staff were very friendly and we were offered fresh milk on arrival to go with the tea and coffee facilities, which even included a Tassimo machine and various coffee and hot chocolate pods. The guest book was very informative and included menus for lunch and dinner. The inn is very well situated and our room had a beautiful view over the river. The room itself was very spacious and practical, and there was a good choice of food for breakfast in the morning.

The place is a bit in need of some TLC, but the staff were frinedly and the food and beer were good.
