We liked how close we were too the airport. The smells from the restaurant were a bit strong. Probably would have been better on an upper level.

We arrived late in the night to the hotel. The hotel was very good about communicating with us prior to our stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was a bit noisy. We were provided 2 bath towels and 1 washcloth. We were unable to use power outlets in the bedroom without having the light on. We left for Reykjavik the next morning via taxi to airport and FlyBus to Reykjavic. Transportation was pricey.

We liked the location and the renovations but the walls were thin and we could hear the conversation in the next room.

The listing stated there is an airport transfer but there is not one. When we got there, the check-in staff were arguing with another gentleman with a printed out confirmation email of the same and refused to honor it. In general, I’d recommend spending the extra to go into the main city where there is more to do even on a short layover as there is no real advantage to staying outside with no shuttle. I also worry about their willingness to accommodate given that interaction should you need any help with anything.

This is a very convenient property for getting to the airport (kef) but it’s older/outdated/ restaurant was not very good- Huge rooms- had a balcony -not quiet/the wind howled through the bathroom vents all day/night parking was easy - but it was a nice enough stay especially for the price and being so close to the airport for a early morning departure- worth it

Overall nice hotel; very friendly and accommodating staff and a very pretty view in the room. Only small problems with few amenities and thin walls. Overall would definitely recommend as a stay right after or before your flights.

The staff was friendly and professional- when they were around. Front desk was not often attended. Hotel seemed tired and somewhat seedy. Water was left in our hot water pot-but, hey! There was a hot water pot. With 1 coffee packet-no tea. Balcony view of harbor also overlooks the parking lot. There was a breakfast set up that we could get even when leaving at 5:20 am. Even though it was close to the airport-we would not likely stay there again.

Hotel Duus worked well for us. We were only there for a short time – checking in very late at night, and leaving around 4:30 am. Luckily for us, the front desk person who checked us in asked if we would like to add breakfast, and that it started at 4 am. Perfect! It was a lovely breakfast layout, eaten in the adjacent cozy restaurant with windows toward the ocean. It was a good way to start our early day exploring on our brief layover. (We used a map download feature from our IPhone maps, to find the hotel on a dark rainy night, without international cell coverage.)

The property is run down. The cleaning of the room hasn't been finished yet when I checked in and when I brought this to the attention of the staff they offered to have it finished after 40 minutes. The description of the room didn't correspond with the description online. Forget about airport transfer. What was marked as emergency exit from the room (blacony door leading to a "balcony" on the street level) was locked so that wouldn't work. There is no way to lock the room from inside. The room is too hot so you have to have window open which is not ideal for some. One can hear everything that happens in the room next door. Signs in the hotel do not reflect reality (key drop off during check-out however there are no keys). The elevator wasn't working (no big deal but just adds to the experience). Thankfully I only stayed for 12 hours otherwise I would have left right away.
