Cosy hotel in Purmamarca

Posted 25 Nov 2019 on Hotels
The breakfast is limited. Only cornflakes, no other cereal. Plenty of sweet items , if you like them for breakfast. no eggs. There is hot water for tea. A spread of fruits, only flavoured yogurt. There is a small dip pool. The rooms are comfortable and there is very little noise, if at all. This is a cosy hotel, small and just perfect for couples

It's a tough property to rate. The hotel itself looks and is of good standing especially considering the area, but I felt it's too expensive for what it offers. Whilst nicely appointed our room was facing directly to the street, at low level, including the parking entrance of the hotel opposite, forcing us to keep the curtains closed at all times. This was very disappointing given the location of the property. The TV was tiny for the size of the room, and internal sound insulation was lacking. Breakfast was rather limited for the category of the hotel. My rating wouldn't have been so low, had I not stayed at another property in Tilcara, which whilst not as hotel-like, offered equally equipped rooms, with much better views and bigger TVs, as well as a great locally sourced breakfast, and gated parking for half the price. To note: there is limited parking space at the hotel, and it's not gated.

Nicely situated, helpful English speaking staff. Bathroom was not clean on arrival asked for it to be cleaned it got a quick wipe over but floor was not washed. Stayed for 2 nights and it did not improve the second day either.

Pleasant stay in cute Andean town

Posted 23 Dec 2018 on Hotels
This is a cute little hotel, well located near the center of this small town. Some of the rooms have views of Cerro de los Colores, The main attraction in town. It is easy to walk everywhere from this hotel, including hiking around El Cerro. Be welcoming at the front desk really depended on who was staffing it. Some of the staff were a lot more friendly than others. The rooms were good sized and even though mine faced a street, it was extremely quiet. The soundproofing between rooms, however, could be better. Overall, a pleasant stay. There’s also a nice courtyard with a small swimming pool (more of a dipping pool) and lounging chairs.

A gem surrounded by a mountain show of color!

Posted 8 Sep 2018 on Hotels
What a gem! Purmamarca is a very undeveloped village, but this hotel is superb. Details everywhere in the architecture, spacious room with great ceiling, beautifully decorated bathroom. Beds and bedding are super-comfortable. There is also a swimming pool, as well as a deck from which the view over the colored mountains is spectacular. And also a restaurant, open for breakfast, and for dinner which is very convenient - and dinner is also good. To top it, wonderful service, at the reception and in the dining room. Stay there - you won't regret it! I only wish we had stayed longer for a perfectly relaxing time.
