Beautiful location by the lake. The unit was large and had everything we needed. Dinner at the restaurant was very good. Would definitely stay here again.

This is the most beautiful property! The views from the room were spectacular. We had a late arrival and the staff was very accommodating.

A hidden gem! This place is off the beaten path, about 15 minutes drive from the nearest restaurant, but that was perfectly fine with us. We were longing for some quiet and the view is second to none. The vibrant blue waters of Lake Taupō were mesmerizing and at night, the sky filled with twinkling stars. Couldn’t have asked for a better place.

Extremely disappointing
Posted 2 Feb 2024 on HotelsHot, stuffy room in an outdated property. Despite how it is advertised on this site, there is no AC in bedrooms. The AC is only in the lower level sitting area, so there is no cooling in upstairs bedrooms. The windows only wedge open slightly, so it's impossible to cool rooms on a warm night even with a fan. There are no screens in the windows, so we had tons of bugs in the room and ended up with a lot of bites overnight. The beds are old with hard pillows and broken down mattresses. The bathrooms are in bad shape and there were ants everywhere. Maybe this place was nice one day but not any more. We had a terrible, sleepless night there. One of the most disappointing hotels we've stayed in. We did have a good meal in the restaurant, and the staff were cordial, but it was not enough to make up for the terrible rooms.

Ok - firstly NZ is experiencing quite a humid summer and we don't advertise AC in bedrooms just in apartments - If you leave lights on and windows open you will get some bugs - we live in the bush :) when you post anonymously I cannot check the bed you say is old and horrible, and not every bed is like your own and people have different tastes, we are in the process of starting upgrades, but again unhelpful if you don't give details of the unit so i can pass on to our owners. Ants ? why didn't you say something at the timed we could have addressed. Don't hide behind anonymous- make a valid complaint at the time so we can address.
