old world charm
Posted 16 Jul 2020 on HotelsThe hotel was well situated by the train station to get to Vienna as well as to the train to go up and down the first large mountain of the Alps. The town of Puchberg is very old worldly - a Kur - Cure- resort since centuries ago. The air was fresh and lovely. The hotel was quiet, the staff were considerate and helpful, and the spa area relaxing.

Beautiful place
Posted 6 Feb 2018 on HotelsThe stay was great. The food was amazing, the staff helpful, and the area was beautiful. My only problem was the bed and bedding, but that seems to be European norms vs American, as we have run into the exact same thing through Austria and the Czech republic. The bed was hard and the pillows rather flat. They did get us a second set of pillows when we asked, but it was tough the first night.

Very quaint and peaceful place - great for climbing the Schneeberg Mountain and relaxing in the spa after. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was a lack of a la cart options for dinner, forcing you to pay a lot for either set menus or buffets. Unfortunately there was not anything else around except fried and not so great Austrian food. Otherwise great stay and special thanks to the amazing bartender :)
