I loved the boathouse...it was a beautifully rural location...it is next to a working boat yard...but it wasnt noisy..water has such a calming effect..the stay relaxed us so much...its a perfect stay if you want to switch off from the world for a little bit...i would definitely go back again.. Its cosy and snug...with everything you might need ..take a book and relax

We loved the large window on the loch!! The sheep were great and adorable! We didn't like the difficulty finding the place!! We also did not like the bathtub/shower! The tub is narrow and very slippery making it difficult to get in and out of. As Americans, we were clueless as to how the shower worked. Some basic directions on the shower would help. Also, a much better map and set of instructions as to how to find the location would go a long way!! Also, no mention was made of the working boatyard right next door to the boathouse. The fence did help.

We absolutely loved the window overlooking the loch! It was so peaceful waking up to the view over the water in the morning. Though it initially seemed a bit secluded, it ended up being the perfect spot to explore Skye from!

To preface, despite my other comments, I really loved this little boathouse. Waking up on the Loch and visiting with the sheep was wonderful. I even enjoyed dodging sheep every time I left the house. It is a really beautiful, unique location and staying right on the water and seeing the moonlight reflected on the Loch was something I’ll never forget. All that said, this boathouse is NOT for everyone. - It is remote. Despite google maps, it is a solid 25/30 minutes into Portree and the house is located at the end of a two mile single lane road which requires navigating into the grass to let other cars pass and having to watch out for sheep, which are frequently all over the road. Do not stay here and expect to be able to walk anywhere or have easy access to food. Dunvegan is also about a 20 minute drive, Uig is closer but has 1 restaurant. - Everything on the island closes around 7:30 pm and if you will be arriving later than that you need to plan food around that fact. There is a grocery store in Portree that is open late, however. - You need reservations for any restaurant on the island. If you can get a booking at the Greshornish House Hotel that would be great because it is the only walkable thing from the boathouse. - The shower is terrible. - There’s not a lot of cell service and there is no Wi-Fi. But again, even with all that, I really liked it. It’s very off the map and staying right on the Loch with the sheep and cows was so special.
