It was a lovely place but walking in and getting a funny look from another guest wasnt a great welcome. Really close to all shops, pubs and cafes. Beds were a bit old and spongy, but otherwise a nice space.

Hello Sally. Whoa !!! we have never experienced this...what has happened ?? If you had an issue you should have let us know. I did manage to sort out the expedia payment problem (theres not yours) after quite some telephone time. ??

Nice old historical building. Has some nice sitting areas where you can read about the history of the building. Room is spacious and clean. Mandy has lots of information to share about the area.

The property was wonderful. Full of history. Will definitely stay next time we are in Portland!

Getting in and out the front door requires knowledge of the secret handshake (which also means setting things down). I was in the biggest room, which was very spacious; I did not peek into the other rooms.

haha...thanks for that--cute !!Guests are welcome to view the other rooms...if the door is ajar. This is encouraged as the house was built in 1856 and we feel the history is for everyone to share.Cheers, stay safe....M

A truly exceptional place on all fronts - beautifully decorated, full of history, wonderfully clean, every need anticipated and catered for. Owners are super lovely and it really is a wonderful place yo stay. There are a good number of restaurants in walking distance.
