What a view!! Amazing place
Posted 24 Feb 2019 on HotelsIt was amazing experience from checking in to leaving, the staff was so helpful they gave us a mobile number we could contact 24hrs which we did and they was there in less than 5mins snake in hand which he found on his way and thought we might to have a look at it which was great, everything was provided even down to a box of matches for the braii, just looking out of the window you could see numerous animals it was an experience we will never forget and will certainly be going back to mansfield game reserve especially to the Eagles nest cabin.

I Want To Go Back
Posted 28 Dec 2016 on HotelsMansfield Game Reserve is situated on the outskirts of Port Alfred en-route to Grahamstown. What was meant to merely be an overnight stay, turned out to be the highlight of our trip.
We stayed at the Eagle's Nest, which I would highly recommend to anyone who needs to get away from the usual trudge of city life. There is no electricity, I had no data signal (although I could make phone calls) and no neighbours (except for the nyala and bushbucks that came to visit us in the morning.)
Living with battery powered lamps, a donkey-boiler for heating water and waking up to the best braai view in the world... Amazing!
I want to go back as soon as possible!

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE
Posted 20 Dec 2015 on HotelsI got there having booked and paid via Hotel.com in April already. I had proof of payment, and booking confirmation. Only to be told there was `... No room at the Inn for me...'. After a 9 hour drive from Durban was not amused. They arranged a room at the Halyards hotel for me. Not good enough.

A primitive lifestyle
Posted 28 Sep 2015 on HotelsWe didn't realize how primitive it was going to be. I.e. no electricity for the evening. The re-chargeable lamps never lasted out the evening, and we had to take them back when they needed re-charging, instead of someone fetching them as they promised.
