Set in a retreat some way out of town, perfect for a chill out and close to major places in the Grampian. Nice to the kangaroos feeding in the fields on the property.

Cute little space

Loved staying here. The hotel staff didn’t bother us and let us have our privacy and a really late check out. Would definitely stay here again.

Great room, with views of the Grampians.

Posted 13 Apr 2017 on Wotif
Pros: Hotel clean, tidy, modern.
Cons: Gardens a bit neglected. Gardens need some TLC. ( tender, loving care )
Location: Went the for a wedding so great location for where we needed to be. Grampians, Halls Gap close by. We didn't have time to explore to much.
Went to the Grampians for a wedding, the hotel was perfect location, close to where we needed to be. But also short drive into Halls Gap. Great.

Nicely renovated bathrooms but terrible shower

Posted 10 Aug 2016 on Wotif
I was expecting our room to have a spa bath because of the photos but didn't realise until arrival that the standard room didn't have a bath, but that is my fault for not reading more carefully. Nice to have milk in the fridge and a few basic things to use on the shared bbq outside if you like. Everything we needed in the room. Walls are a bit thin, we could hear everything from the neighbours and the shower had terrible water pressure. Wouldn't stay again but wasn't all that bad. Caretakers were very prompt to respond and easy to dela with

costly for basic accommodation and misleading

Pros: cleanliness
from the room description and from guest booklet in room, expected a communal spa only to find out it was not available throughout my stay. no wifi which is annoying considering the cheapest hostels overseas offer wifi. very small room but was comfortable and clean. lovely bathroom.

Bitterly Disappointed with Cleanliness & Service

Posted 25 Feb 2016 on Hotels
So disappointed with this hotel & lack of service provided. The room was nicely decorated & the bathroom was luxurious with marble floors, walls & 2 sinks with premium toiletries. We started noticing a LOT of flies flying around & there were cobwebs everywhere. Took 30min killing ~15 flies before giving up. We then opened the toilet bowl & saw it was covered with faeces! Obviously someone had used the toilet before we checked in & nobody checked! The bathroom hand towel was used & there was an opened soap bar in the sink. (I have the photos to verify these). I had to clean off the faeces from the toilet bowl myself There was no one to call as there was no phone reception & landline in the place. No one was manning the place (we only called the cleaner to check in ~10pm). We checked the next day morning at the main building but no one was around. We emailed the owner (Mr Saku Nathan) at night when we were in Halls Gap (with pictures). His reply was basically ‘Sorry/just changed a new cleaner/discounts on the next visit/we are located in Melbourne City”. Seriously? After I emailed him back, there was ZERO response from him. Be rest assured, unless new management comes in, I will NOT be back. This was actually such a waste as it was a lovely room. Really hope something can be done about this. Note that it is pitch black at night. We had a hard time finding the place on the dirt road as there was no road signage other than tiny numbers ‘30’ & ‘32’ pinned to the trees.

Not a 'hotel'.

Posted 23 Jan 2016
Cons: The facility still needs to be completed. The 'hotel' photo is a misrepresentation and masks the unfinished nature of the facility.
Location: Short drive to Halls Gap & the Grampians. The Grampians is beautiful with great walks. We also did a day of rock climbing which was great fun.
This is not a 'hotel', it is an unfinished project converted to a type of accommodation with random locked doors within the room. When we arrived at 7pm in the evening after a 6hr drive from Sth Australia, we found that the lock of the main door (to outside) of our room was broken and the door therefore did not lock. In place of offering another room, the proprietor chose to advise that our options were that she could 1. cancel our booking OR, 2. we could stay in the unlockable room for the evening until it was repaired the next day OR, 3. we could pay EXTRA for a 'better room'. When we refused to pay EXTRA for a 'better room' and advised that looking for alternative accommodation at 7pm in an area we did not know (we live in Singapore) would put us at risk of being homeless for the evening (and she already had our money), only then did she advise that in fact, a somewhat equivalent room (with a working lock) was available and we could take it for our booking of 3 nights. Put simply, it was unscrupulous of the proprietor to use an unfortunate situation for 'extra' payment. As we had already prepaid and we did not trust that we would receive a refund, we chose to stay for our 3 nights. Note, not once was our room serviced or cleaned during our stay and the random locked doors in our room was less than comfortable. On the positive side, the room was well presented. The facility is however, an unfinished project with an unfinished feel.
