Our stay at the Auberge Dupuytren.
Posted 31 Mar 2018 on HotelsThe hotel was on our route down south and was very easy to find no one there to greet us but we obtained entry by phoning and getting the entry code. Our room was very clean but lacked a bit of decoration- bare floorboards and no paintings on the wall. The bed was large and comfortable. The room was warm. The evening meal was very good though my portion was a little small and the service friendly. We had an excellent breakfast there before setting off the next day.

Basic accommodation, would suit family overnight

Pros: Character of the hotel was good - obviously an old coaching inn.
Nice restaurant area & garden - when you can get access to it.
Cons: Air conditioning in rooms.
Customer attitude.
Expedia not charging substantially more than if we had turned up & just taken a room at the door
Location: Convenient for coming off the main autoroute just South of Limoges.
Room was clean & spacious, good bathroom. Very basically fitted out.
No aircon, so the room at night was stifling.
Room had 4 beds, so would suit family.
Hotel had pool, but only access was through restaurant, which was closed until 6pm. Unfortunately the pool closed at 6pm. So no access to the pool unless you were in Room 1, which has a door overlooking the pool. Therefore this property should not have been advertised as having access to an outdoor pool.
Nobody at reception when we arrived (4:30pm). Reception only manned at restaurant opening hours. Very inconvenient. Luckily we managed to find a very friendly young man working as a KP in the kitchen who helped us. Otherwise we would not have known what to do.
Service from the proprietor was polite, business like but not particularly friendly.
Breakfast was good value but limited. Food OK.
Price at the hotel (rack rate) on the door was much lower than we were charged on Expedia by nearly 20%.
Would be good value for a family staying overnight in 1 room en-route somewhere, not so good value as a couple.

Pros: The staff, the restaurant, the family room was quite spacious.
Cons: More towels because the pool is irresistable. Some dim night lighting would be handy so you can find the loo in the night.
Location: The location is OK. I would suggest head south rather than west for things to do.
Such a lovely setting. Stylish, yet relaxed. Spacious. Even a restaurant that is open on Sunday. The owner was very friendly and courteous.

Pros: Ease of location and parking.Good clean room with excellent shower and friendly proprietor.
Cons: Only wish French hotels supplied bigger fluffier towels.
Location: Close to A20 but no noise
We arrived late having met an accident but the proprietor was happy to accommodate us in the restaurant and was very pleasant
