Apartment and facilities

Posted 22 Aug 2017
Apartment smelled of smoke, washing machine door broken, no cooker , beds uncomfortable very very hard like sleeping on floor. Towel change once a week, no cleaning , cutlery- we had to buy a knife as theirs blunt. Surroundings of building dirty , broken pipes, does not look like the picture. Other hotel - gym dirty and only few equipment , need a car to drive up to it. Very very basic overall. Reception not there on weekends and one day in the week.

Damp and smelly

Posted 26 Aug 2014
Rooms smelt damp as did the beds felt like a cheap damp halls of residence. Not v pleasant at all. Put it like this if I had nowhere else to sleep it would be fine but other than that give it a miss. We are not fussy but would have rather have camped for our last night of holiday than stayed at this wierd place.

Very basic and isolated!

Posted 23 Jul 2013
Pros: Large apartment suited for a family and the local beach (accidental and difficult find)
Cons: Very isolated with no local amenities forcing us to drive to find supermarkets! The apartments also look like they are residential for local Spanish
Location: Isolated, good access to the motorway and gorgeous local beach which we found by accident
The apartment is quite large but very basic with no local ameneties. The supermarket up the road was closed down and therefore only basic corner shops were available after a long drive around hunting! We managed to find a supermarket just off on the nearby A67 motorway. The reception was non existent and looked as though itd also closed down therefore we had to check in via the "nearby" hotel up the road which is up a very steep hill! The apartment was adequate for what we wanted but not excellent, there was no wifi or air conditoning as advertised which made sleeping uncomfortable. The kitchenette was also very basic with very few cooking appliances making it difficult to make food. The bathroom showerwas very small (I could only just fit in it at 5ft high!!) which wet the floor considerably after each shower and no shower-bath combo as advertised. There was no local bars or pubs close by except the hotel nearby. A reviewer on here recommended the buffet at a reasonable 12 euros which we tried. However it was very basic canteen style food which to be honest had no taste and was overpriced at the 12 euros a head! The only positive attributes to the apartment is that it is close to the nearby motorway for travelling and close to a lovely almost private beach we found (by accident after driving round). The place is good if you want to experience isolation and "real Spain" as there are no tourists as such or any nightlife. I personally wouldnt stay again as its too isolated.

Really good choice for ferry stopover

Posted 1 Sep 2012
Pros: The all you can eat buffet and location
Cons: The walk up the steep hill to the hotel!
Location: Adjacent to the main A road into Santander, very easy to catch ferry
As a family of 5 it's difficult to find suitable (and relatively inexpensive) accommodation so we were pleased with this place! We booked this apartment as an alternative to nearby hotels and found the accommodation much more flexible. It was a bit tricky to find so make sure you print out a detailed map. Our apartment block was at the bottom of a steep hill, and part of an aparthotel complex. We visited the hotel for a very good buffet tea - all you can eat - including salad bar, meats, fish, pasta, bread, soup, chips and desert, with a bottle of wine and water all for 12 euros per adult and children cheaper/free! The apartment was clean and comfortable - nothing flashy, but had all you need for a night with plenty of towels and clean bedding. We used the pool near the hotel but later discovered one next to our apartment. Very quick into Santander too so ideal to catch the ferry.
