Beautiful historic house with exceptional service. Very friendly welcome. The room was very large and beautifully decorated. The restaurant in the courtyard is magnificent, and our state included continental breakfast. I highly recommend really comment on the location as I was only here for one night. It is in the historic center.

My husband had surgery at Pennshlvania Hospital. He was supposed to leave same-day but had a few issues. He was stahing overnight. So I asked staff where to stay. The Morris House is 5 min away on foot. I checked into the historic hotek and was given a tour. The courtyard is beautiful! Red brick lovliness. My room is great with a bathroom almost as large as the bedroom. First thing I did was draw a bath in the jetted tub, throw in the bath salts left for me...and relaxed. First time in 12 hrs.I went for a nap in the comfy bed. Ahhh. Just what I needed after a very stressful...long...day.

Great historic building in fantastic location. Lack of elevator, lack of modern amenities, like electric outlets, sound dampeing have to put up with for the experience. Staff was very nice but spare. We had to wait a while to get to our rooms.

When we arrived, someone else had signed for our room and it had been given to them. The paper that had been signed had my name on it but someone else’s signature. I am unsure how this was able to happen when two forms of identification are needed to check in. They were unable to reassure me as to the security of my information. However, they did provide us with an upgraded room, which was a process that took about a half an hour while we were made to wait in the lobby until after 11pm. I didn’t feel like the proprietor really took much responsibility for their mistake, or for making us wait, and their tone toward us made us feel somewhat unwelcome. With all the other options for accommodations in Philly, I would not stay here again.

This was a lovely historic, elegant and quiet hotel. It was in easy walking distance of our interests in Philadelphia and only a block from the Walnut Theater. We had a wonderful visit there.
