Hotel was very nice but old and could use some updating. Its in middle of nowhere with literally 2 miles of drive on narrow road in fields with no buildings in site. This did make it quiet. There was a nature trail that we did not have time to explore. It was convenient location for us as a stop on drive between Glascow and Liverpool

Put in a room that allows pets without asking if it's ok. The room stank like a fusty old couch that was left mouldy for 30 years. Bugs all over the place. The room was completely run down, absolutely shocking for the money we spent. we were changed rooms just to be put in a hot box with no cooling or fan or even shower, then had to lissen to staff banging for 2 hours couldn't sleep a wink NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Friendly knowledgeable staff, lovely bedrooms, food was excellent. Actually quite qiet and the woodland was lovely. Red squirrels were a treat.

Not a modern "cookie cutter" hotel, it had squeaky floorboards, very comfortable beds and great staff
