Reception opens at 5pm
We went at 4:50pm and the receptionist yelled at us for showing up early
I have traveled to over 80 countries and stayed at 100’s of hotels over the past 30 years
Have not met someone more rude
The hotel is clean (more like a motel). We came here for the church and this was the only option on Expedia

Dear Antony,Thank you very much for your stay and for taking the time to post a note and a comment after your stay. The rating of 1/5 is quite disappointing and unjustified. It seems to me that the booking conditions were specified on your voucher. Your long experience of travel should have made you understand that you have to adapt to the customs of the country that welcomes you. In France, one does not grovel before a capricious client and I think that there was no vital emergency. We are a small hotel with 30 rooms, 3 employees and we are available for our guests during our opening hours. When you take a plane, if you arrive early at the airport, you don't get on before boarding time? Before you have completed your travel formalities? At the hotel it's the same. There is a check-in time with reception formalities that only the person at the reception desk is able to do, and a check-out time.I wish you a good trip to France and invite you to be a little less demanding or to book in establishments that match your expectations. Please accept, dear Antony, the expression of my sincere greetings.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

Hotel was very quiet and breakfast was good. Only one thing I will suggest to the hotel. You need to provide a better information about your location. Location is near highway but no sign and I was driving around looking for the hotel almost an hour. The GPS couldn’t find a place. Thank you.

Dear Piotr,Many thanks for your stay and for taking the time to post a note and comment after your stay. We are delighted to discover your satisfaction with our services. As far as signposting is concerned, we have taken the necessary steps to be referenced on the GPS but unfortunately the town of Paray-le-Monial has still not given us a street number which poses a real difficulty in finding us. We are perfectly referenced on Google and Waze. As far as the signs are concerned, we have done our utmost, a huge sign on the gable of the building overlooking the RCEA with signage. The signage in the area is also regulated because our town of less than 10,000 inhabitants is subject to an ecological law on signs... However, now that you know where to find us, we hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you on a future visit to the region. Sincerely yours, OphélieTranslated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

Basic Hotel
Posted 28 Jul 2018
Pros: The cleanliness of the room. The male receptionist is very friendly.
Cons: Better air conditioning so it does not get so cold. Tea replacements in the room. The eggs need to be cooked properly for breakfast.
Location: The location for the hotel is good if you have a car and want to go into town. It is not ideal for walking on a very hot day.
The room was cleaned very well. The air conditioning was a little cold, and when I turned it off, the room became too hot. I wasn't sure how to find the balance, in the middle of a heat wave.
The breakfast was basic. I asked for fried egg which was undercooked and I had stomach pains all night.
I enjoy drinking tea, which they had in my room on the first night, but I did not receive any more on the following nights.
You really need to a have a car when staying in this hotel, unless your willing to take taxis into the town. I walked into the town which took 20 mins, in the summer at 30 degrees is difficult, especially coming back to the hotel which is mainly uphill.

Dear Guest,Thank you very much for your stay and for taking the time to post a note and a comment after your stay. The air conditioning is individually controlled. I don't understand why you didn't come and see us so that we could explain how it works, which apparently escaped you.Concerning the "badly cooked" eggs... I don't understand. We offer you free range eggs, prepared at the minute according to your taste? Why didn't you tell us that they were not cooked to your liking? From that to insinuating that the eggs you had for breakfast were left on your stomach all night... Your digestive system is very strange... Our establishment is perfectly referenced on the Internet and allows you to get an idea of its geographical location in the city. I don't understand your behaviour: what's the point of making your observations on the Internet when it would have been simpler to come and see us to enable you to have a better stay? The pleasure of complaining?Sincerely yours,

Motorway hotel.
Posted 23 Nov 2016 on HotelsAt night it's very difficult to find the entrance to the hotel from the motorway roundabout, this is via an industrial area.
On arriving in my. Room 202 there was a large lizard above the bed!
I didn't feel it appropriate to share the room with a reptile I didn't know so returned to reception.
At first the receptionist thought I was joking untill I showed there evidence of the squatter in the room.
She immediately gave me another room without hesitation.
Hotel wifi didn't work which is unacceptable for motorway hotel.
Other than that hotel was ok & staff were friendly.

Comfortable hotel on the outskirts of the town
Posted 29 May 2015 on HotelsSix of us were staying at the hotel cycling part of Eurovelo route 6, so it was important that we had secure storage for bikes. This was provided in a room behind reception but it would probably be best to confirm your requirements in advance. The rooms are comfortable and modern with free WiFi.The only disadvantage for some may be the lack of proximity to the town centre. However the lady on reception recommended and booked an excellent restaurant (3 Pigeons) and arranged a taxi (around 10 Euros). The location for us proved to be a blessing as there is a bike shop 5 minutes away and one of our party had a broken gear cable. The hotel was reasonably priced and served a good breakfast including cooked bacon and egg for 10 Euros.

Outstanding value and comfort
Posted 29 May 2015 on HotelsFantastic hotel. Very surprised at the size of the room and bed. Assume I must have been upgraded for free. Very helpful reception staff too. Impressive for the price.
