staffs are cheerful and accommodating thou the owner never smiles or greet good morning to guests. facilities are ok but beddings are old, head rest is unstable, bed is making noise when you move we did not eat lunch and dinner but breakfast traditional Filipino is ok nothing special. location wise, you need to take tricyle to go Aloha, takes few minutes and 100 pesos fare overall experience is just okay

Hi Ben, We are very surprised that the owner never smiled or greeted you because many guest have left reviews stating how friendly they are. They are not around much these days so maybe the person you thought was the owner wasn't, not really sure. It's well stated that we are a twelve minute walk to Alona Beach and you can see on the location. It's only 3 mins by tricycle and yes unfortunately they overcharge in the area. Filipino breakfast is as it usually comes rice, egg etc perhaps the English breakfast would have been nicer. If you read the resort details we tell it as it is a 3 star resort and the price is very reasonable for what you get. Thanks po

Had a fantastic stay at The Barefoot Alona Resort. The owner, his family and staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Great pool, bar and restaurant. Great place to stay in Alona Beach and I would love to go back.

Really enjoyed our stay here and felt very welcomed by Brian and his team. Nothing is too little and Brian was more than happy to chat with you about the local area and what there is to see/do. Reasonably priced restaurant compared to those nearby and lovely food. Alona Beach is only a short walk away (10-15 mins). For us the location was ideal, it wasn’t too far from the beach where there are plenty of restaurant/ bars, yet at the resort it was very peaceful. Excellent pool and the hotel has a van and driver should you wish to do any day trips/ airport drop off through them. Would definitely return!

Bad location but a budget hotel

Posted 13 Dec 2019 on Hotels
+ (plus) WiFi in the room. + Led TV with Netflix for rainy days. + Pool for spontaneous swimming + Polite staff - (minus) Exactly 25 min walk to the Beach (Alona Beach), If you take a tricycle taxi it cost 100 p, year 2019 (maybe more starting 2020). Hotell charges 500 p for rental motorbike a day, but 350 p you can find a rental on the way to the Alona Beach. Even hassle it down to 300 p if you know the tricks. - Electricity shut down twice. - No water for toalett and shower happens once - Mosquitos and lots of ants in the room, and there is a big gap between the entrence door and the floor. Free entrance for bugs, crickets snakes etc. Keep your stuf high and in plastic bags. - I found a cockroach in the bathroom, he run out in the room when I went in. He was to fast for me to kill. - The Chinese guy that's own the hotel, also build/renovate the near bigger building. That construction can be disturbing. The rumour is, The Chinese owner is going to change name of the barefoot hotel for next year to restart the reviews or he have another plan for the barefoot hotel (maybe renovate it or build something new). Therefor you can't book for next year. - No minibar even though it said so in the booking. - I bought a beer and paid 100 peso in the bar, the girl in the bar didn't have change and would bring it too my room when they did. No change was given.

Hi thanks for your review and sorry to hear it wasn't to your liking and also about the change you should have mentioned something on checkout. The staff should have had change. It takes me 12 minutes to walk to the beach from the first road from the resort you must have gone the long/wrong way. Power cuts are ongoing on the whole of Panglao at times because of upgrades to the island. The place is surrounded by bushland of course there's going to be insects. Rumors are never true and it's not owned by a Chinese guy at present but they will take over in January as the place was just sold. All the best
