This is an original building that was on the beaches of Normandy in 1944 and before, and suffered damage from off shore gun fire from Allied Ships on the day of the assault. The building is now a quaint hotel with a family owned hotel. We enjoyed our stay as we made a visit to all that is available in the area. All provided gave us a relaxing stay.

This hotel was opposite the beach, however the room was really small and we found it to be really expensive for what they offered. There was no bottle of water in the room, shampoo/body wash was basic and parking was an extra €7 too.

Dear Nigel,Shampooing and gel are surely not basic as they are ecological products. We have chosen dispenser to avoid plastic waste. What is inside is certainly more important than the bottle. It is time to change mindset.Clothes do not make the man, same for the products.Best regards,

Not as described in the listing

Posted 30 Sep 2023 on Hotels
We wouldn't have stayed if we'd had accurate information. The hotel is very handy for the beach and in a great old building with a lot of history, but it's very run down and more like a hostel than a hotel. The information in the listing isn't accurate. There's no communal tea / coffee, toiletries / shuttle bus service / pool, etc. It might be that other rooms are better but we could hear every little cough & noise from the neighbouring room and staircase.

Dear Mrs Fiona,Thank you for sharing your experience. The Villa has been built in 1867, it's a part of her charm, we start renovating all rooms since 2017, but it takes time. The information on our own website are exact, there is sometimes fake information on Internet. If you want a transfer to the ferry, you have to contact reception before and would be extra cost. We booked a taxi for you as asked and then you canceled it.We propose also Coffee and tea trail with extra cost but you refused. It's not mandatory for a 2 stars hotel to have it in all room. There is toiletries in all room, but we choose to use distributor for ecological reason. We don't know where you see that we have a pool ? There is a public pool and a thalasso just near the hotel. Regards,Mélinda and Julien

Overnight stay

Just an overnight before the ferry, made to feel welcome and nice views out to the sea. Secure parking so great for motorcyclists and cars. 5 minutes from ferry! Convenient for restaurants .

Good hotel close to the port

Lovely stop near to the port, rooms were small but clean and just what we needed. We parked but did reserve this ahead of time. Appreciated that the hotel allowed our late arrival due to a delayed ferry

Perfect location near the beach and restaurants. Normandy villa with a garden and lounge chairs. Possibility to park inside the property. The corridor is outdated but clean. Room and bathroom are a bit small. No shampoo. Sea view and quietness appreciated.
