Great accomodation in a beautiful location. Staff were most helpful, and went above and beyond to make stay great! What more could you ask for? Well maybr a softer pillow! Everything else? OUTSTANDING!

Hotel in a beautiful spot with lovely views but not worth the price. Limited amenities, all run a bit on the cheap. Greg is a nice guy and the place is clean but really it is pricing itself as something it is not. Other than being big and having a bath the luxury room has nothing luxury about it. We also paid a lot more by booking through Expedia - book direct and save $$. Don’t get sucked in like we did! Annoyingly the manager told us this after he had taken our money at the Expedia price and then said there was nothing he could do about it.

Checked in on Xmas day. Nobody at reception, but Xmas so I understand. Nice room nice walk and views over the ocean and magestic view of volcano with snow cap! Hotel has a for sale sign out front—SAD!

Our second night on the road we had this hotel book. after a 10hr motorcycle ride from gisbrone to headlands we checked in at 7pm tired, cold and hungry all we wanted was hot room a sit down meal and a good drink. Instead our heatpump was faulty and wouldnt heat the room due to an unit motor fault. I was that cold being an ex heatpump installer i dagnoised the unit trying to get it going. we called in advance re the resturant and even confirmed at checkin if we could dine in. when we got out our leathers and returned to enjoy a meal we were told it had to be take out only @ 745 when the resturant closes at 9pm. We were not happy about this especialy as we paid $80 resturant prices for dinner where we could have paid $30 at kcf for takeaway food. Disgruntaled we got up packed the bike and headed up the coast in the rain to enjoy breakfasted in new plymouth. The clerk staff was very helpful and friendly resturant staff and basic heating is what let this stay down for us. We were returning customers but in future we will be bypassing and heading elsewhere .

Sorry for the heat pump problems .we have someone looking into the problem. As the restaurant is leased out ,i will pass the comments on to them..

Ended up having to cancel booking so can’t really say anything about the motel. Certainly they understood why I had to cancel and were courteous about it
