Ennis Monte Maccione Review 10/2021
Posted 31 Oct 2021 on HotelsWe thoroughly enjoyed this place!! We got upgraded to a larger room because it was low season and it did not disappoint! The views of the mountain range were epic, the wine was affordable and the meals were all local produce with quality service. The hiking in the area is absolutely epic, just make sure you have a vehicle that can do some inclines and winding roads safely and you can take advantage of the whole scene. We would definitely stay again! :)

Relaxing Retreat
Posted 14 Sep 2019 on HomeAwayThis place was certainly worth the drive up the mountain. It was so relaxed and welcoming. The room was basic but comfortable. As there are only a certain number of rooms there were not too many people about which meant there was plenty of space for everyone. The veranda was a fabulous place to relax, have a drink and watch the sun set on the opposite mountain and over the valley. The Dinner menu was varied from pizza to local fayre, everything with local produce, delicious.
Great, attentive and friendly staff.
Felt like we were on holiday.

Really enjoyed this mountain location, stunning views and sunset. Only remark is room needs air-con or fan in summer months.

Almost no reason to explore further afield
Posted 27 Jun 2018 on HotelsA simple but lovely hotel with everything you might need for your stay. Other luxuries would simply distract from the amazing setting. Extraordinary views from the terrace and surrounded by mountain woodlands. A true oasis of tranquility!
We ate in the hotel restaurant and were hugely impressed by the quality, all produce is locally sourced and it really shows!
The drive up the access road is quite something but really just adds one more reason to stay in and around this incredible place.

Quiet refuge in the high peaks of Sardinia

Pros: Dinners in the restaurant are amazing. Most products are sourced locally and many items are sold at the counter. Breakfast is basic continental.
Cons: The desk had nothing in the way of trail maps to offer guests. It is a little frightening to go off into the woods with only verbal instructions.
Location: It is easy to take a wrong turn on the way up to the hotel. The road to the hotel is frighteningly steep. A 4x4 vehicle would help.
Enis Monte Maccione is ideally situated if you want to hike the various trails of the Supramonte of Oliena. The hotel feels a little austere, like a spiritual retreat, but clean and well run, with an amazing room front terrace if you reserve any room in the 300's. The views are unbelievable and humbling, even.. The people who work at the hotel, for the most part, seem to have a deep appreciation and respect for this natural environment. The whole place seems to be run as a cooperative, so it all depends who is on duty at the time.
