Stay 2 days for new year holiday

Posted 8 Jan 2016
Although the hotel is not a new one, still with good service and many nice staff. Not too far from monorail station, but think twice if you carry lot of luggage, so driving is higher recommend to you.

Pleasant stay (I'd do it again)

Posted 28 Jul 2015 on Hotels
I was on a trip to Okinawa and I had to make a last minute change to my itinerary when my original hotel plans fell through. I chose the Tokyo Dai-Ichi Hotel because there were other few choices left. However, I don't regret it. The hotel turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It's located in downtown Naha near the airport. There are a number of small bars and restaurants nearby convenient to anyone staying at the hotel. I reserved a non-smoking room and was quite pleased. It seems it was recently updated with new furniture and carpets and the bathroom was so clean you could eat off the floor. I don't know if my room is indicative of the other rooms but for a non-smoking room I was satisfied. The breakfast buffet was quite good, but it was geared toward Asian travelers so I could see Western travelers being turned off by it. The hotel staff was courteous and friendly and very accommodating. If there's any criticism I have, it's the language barrier. I don't speak Japanese and no one on the staff I encountered seemed to speak much English. Along with that, I couldn't find any English channels on the TV. However, with the free high speed Internet access and a VPN, I streamed programming to my computer so it wasn't a big deal to me. With the exception of one other guest I saw, every other guest was Asian so I suppose there's not much demand for English. If I return to Naha, I would strongly consider staying here again. Good value for the money.

Professional Service, Great Breakfast

Posted 22 Feb 2015 on Hotels
I was pleasantly surprised to learn the hotel is near an amazing Chinese-style park. It was also within walking distance of tourist attractions and the monorail. Everything was convenient and nice. The breakfast was amazing. I used to work in a hotel, and I can say from experience that they did everything right.

Can't beat this fabulous Naha City hotel!

I chose this hotel as a first night layover after landing at the airport after 9pm with rental car agencies closed and too far to travel to my final destination in northern Okinawa. Wanted something close to the airport, clean, efficient with a good rate. A breakfast the nice morning was an additional perk. The lobby and attendants were typical of a business hotel. The WiFi was very spotty but at this time it did not matter to me. The room was very small by U.S. standards but normal for a Japanese business hotel. The breakfast started at 6:30AM. Wow - was I surprised by this breakfast buffet! Beautifully presented with a nice assortment of western and Japanese favorites. A nice salad bar, pastries and breads, juices (tropical and local) and teas. Several types of individually ground coffee, with 2 espresso machines to fill your cup with your favorite espresso drinks. I work for a hospitality management company in the premier and lifestyle division of boutique hotels and I was very impressed. A colleague told me after my stay that the Dai-Ichi chains specialize in breakfasts as a nice amenity. I will return.

Good

Pros: Over all the service was great and its very clean.
Cons: Room size.
Location: There's a few places that you can visit nearby Naminue Shrine and Naminue Beach are within a walking distance.
The Hotel is situated close to the airport and is on a very good area where the places that I go to are nearby.

Average hotel

Stayed in its small room. Room is pretty small, things are rather budget and show its age. Most notable is the tiny bathroom and aged decorations, which may give an impression of uncleanliness.

Good for the Price

Posted 30 Jan 2014 on Hotels
The room is what you expect it to be for the price. It is very comfortable and clean. The surrounding area is convenient but a little bit of a hike from Naha. The restaurant downstairs is expensive (dinner is 3,500YEN!!!)but very good. Overall it's good for the price.
