I enjoyed my stay at Ocean Acres because it was affordable, close to desired area and convenient. I rated the cleanliness average because in general the room looked and was clean however it didn’t seem that they changed the sheets since I had found a cluster of hairs under the bedding sheet. That was the only flaw, other than that I enjoyed my stay here.

Staff was incredibly friendly, room was clean and showed some updates. Mini fridge was unplugged and very old, definitely needs an upgrade, AC unit was unplugged and we arrived to a warm room. Bedding could use an upgrade also. Would recommend for a short term stay with basic needs.

Thanks for the feedback. Apologies that the ac and fridge were unplugged - not sure why that was the case.As of 2024, all bedding and towels are brand new. Would love to hear more recommendations to help your next stay be a 5 out of 5 :)I hope everyone liked their lobster temporary tattoos :)

Convenient, clean, quiet. However, Wifi was terrible, not even usable.

The wifi will be completely overhauled on June 11, 2024. Unfortunately, that wasn't in time for your stay but we do hand out cards during check-in to instruct you on how to hook up if you have issues and we have those same cards in all of the rooms. We're always happy to help navigate connection issues either way. Glad you had a good time nonetheless.

Worst experience ever in Ogunquit!

Posted 12 Sep 2023 on Hotels
My wife and I have stayed at numerous locations over the past 14 years in Ogunquit. Never had an experience like this. The positives were that the room was large and the location was quiet. The bedding uncomfortable and hard. The first night was o.k, even though we had a noise from the bath room plumbing that repeating its grumbling consistently every 15 minutes. That was o.k. because we cranked up the fan to drown out the noise. Day two - we came back to - no new towels - room not vacuumed - but bed made and trash removed. Day 3 was horrible - came back at 2 pm to a room that was never picked up and the only thing that was done was the dirty towels on the bathroom floor were removed as was the trash. Room never picked up, nor was the bed made, nor were there any new towels. My wife went to the front desk and was given no explanation as to why the room was in that condition, but given new towels. Day 4 check out. I had to tell the "Manager" Andy about our experience and what he should have done to accommodate my wife and I the night before. Andy's expression was like a deer looking into the headlights. His comment was " You're complaining about the bed not being made?" Hello? Apparently when he took the course for Customer Service - he must have completed it via zoom and fell asleep. I was told by Andy that they have been in business for 60 years. So I asked him, "What is your point?" I then asked who the owners were, he said "My parents". That explained everything!

I apologize to anyone who read that entire 'review'. Let's dissect the inaccuracies here.I'll start with how you addressed me at the end of your stay. You came in and asked if I was the manager. I said yes, and you laughed. You followed up with, "Let me tell you how to run a Motel." Not the best start with someone who has been working here for 25 years. The second night of your stay, yes, we regrettably missed your room somehow. Your wife came up and told me. I apologized and said that I could have the housekeepers clean it right away. She was very nice and said that everything was fine. I pushed, and she assured me everything was ok.Now, back to you telling me how to run a motel. You said what should have happened was that we would clean a whole new room for you, put you in there for a few minutes while we clean your previous room, then put you back into that previous room.I replied with, "no, that's not how this works". I attempted to tell you about the interaction with your wife but you cut me off, raised your voice and said, "I've been in the customer service industry for 40 years. How long has this place even been open?" My reply was that we've been here for 60 years. All of your claims on the first night were wrong. I personally cleaned your room because most of our staff had to go back overseas. Everything was done except your bed because we are not legally allowed to touch your personal belongings. You told me that we were supposed to take all of your belongings and "tidy them up". Again, we can't touch your personal belongings. When I tried to tell you that we can't and don't do that you raised your voice again and started asking for everyone's names. I told you mine, then you asked for the owners' names. I didn't feel like it was relevant, so you asked who they were. I told you they were my parents. They are in their late 70's, I am in my late 30's.It was obvious at that point that you didn't want to hear anything from this "kid" behind the desk because you just kept bragging about how much experience you have in customer service. You left by, stop me if you've heard this before, raising your voice and saying, "if I taught a class in customer service, I would use you as the nightmare scenario".The little jab at the end of your rant about Zoom made it even more obvious that you just wanted to talk down to someone you presumed to be young behind the desk at the motel. I applaud you for having 40 years of experience in customer service, let me know when you have experience in hotel/motel management. If you made it this far in the response. Thank you for reading what really happened.
