I must express my biggest disappointment in one of the staff members in this hotel. We arrived at the hotel around 5:30pm and did the self-check-in. I went to the front desk the next morning to ask if I needed to fill out any paperwork. I talked to the person (wearing glasses) at the front desk and filled out the paperwork. Then, if he said that you need to pay the parking fee. I just said “oh, it’s not free parking” conversationally because I had been travelling for about 20 days and I had booked many hotels and didn’t remember which hotels provided free parking or not. Unexpectedly, the person stared at me with stone-faced looking and condescending voice asking me “did you read the email? You must read the email we sent now!” He sounded that I didn’t want to pay the parking fee that made feel very frustrated and uncomfortable. I just paid and left. I received an email later from him and blamed me for not reading the email.
To make matters worse... Because there was no water pot in our room to make tea or coffee, my wife went to the dining room of the hotel to get some hot water. The same guy, who worked at the front desk also worked in the dining room, told my wife that she was not allowed get hot water because we did not make breakfast reservations. His attitude was cold and rude. I am 68 years old and have travelled to many different countries. Needless to say, this is the worst hospitality service I’ve ever encountered in my life! In my opinion, this individual is not

yours guest ! thanks for your stay. hospitality is our buisness. all guest will get the same service if you pay for it. you did not pay for it. you tried to check out without payment ! inside your self check in CODE instruction your got details for to check in by yourself and for payment fees and taxes at check out. you denied your fees and taxes and tried to leave proberty without payment. you should be ashamed about your habbit and your review complain ! furhermore you were asking for a big isolated bottle of hot water. we told you that you have to pay for it as you did not order breakfast at our proberty. if you would have been ordered breakfast hot water would be free of charge. if you have no budget for service (breakfast ... ) you can not expect free service. we do not take part to give service for free. if you go for an restaurant or hotel you have to pay for tea / coffee / hot water ... . it is a strange habbit to expect to get service for free ! if you make a booking with service all included you would pay a higher rate for this kind of service. you made a low budget bookink.within it is ridiculous for a person of age 68 to explain that you have to pay for service. it is "wonderful" to show your egoistic behavior inside your given review.

It's a great way to visit Hallstatt by staying here. The beautiful view is also present in this accomodation.
The self check in after hours can be a bit confusing but great help from the restaurant owner nearby.

rather good for the money no traffic quite easy to walk around and the air is clean, you can not see it. only problem is lack of various resturants, there were two but Hallstatt is 3 miles away and full of any thing you may want to eat

Very comfortable and clean place to stay that is right on the lake next to the park. Beautiful place to take walks around the lake.

Situated on Lake Hallstatt with great views of the lake and surround area. Has great access to all transportation to Hallstatt, being right next to to dock and bus station and a scenic 3 mile walk around the lake. This hotel is located next to the Obertraun train station. More calm and less hectic than Hallstatt itself, which is great as Hallstatt is just a quick boat or bus ride away. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was great. Rooms were very clean and a great perk with the balcony. The lakeside patio was an amazing addition to this hotel. Only lower than 5 star rating was the surrounding area which had limited food options...but again, worth is since the area was less crazy with tourists and Hallstatt is easy to get to. Lastly, the price of this place for being right on the lake is unbeatable. Will be staying here again.
