Fantastic location and the staff are absolutely lovely. You will not regret staying here at all. The breakfast is great and a cold bottle of Lion beer after a full day surfing in the sun is so good it makes me want to go back immediately. Try to stay in room 07, it's the best.

heavenly!

the jasper is simply wonderful! upon arrival you are requested to take your shoes off, as it is more a home like atmosphere you want sand free as opposed to a hotel (there are only 10 guest rooms). it’s surround super thin tall palm trees with beautiful peacocks roaming around; amoung other local furries friends. we happened to stay in two different rooms, by choice, and both were fabulous and unique. outdoor/indoor bathroom and guest rooms - you literally had nearly floor to ceiling room windows that open to absolute beauty, and then you go into the bathrooms and it’s permanently open air yet perfectly private at the same time. the bed is comfortable and the room clean in general. less than 50m walk from beach and the beach is BREATHTAKING. back to the jasper though, meredith one of the hotel managers, was extra ordinarily helpful and super fun! we even went to see some local music together. food at the rooftop restaurant was good and fair prices. we enjoyed ourselves so much we stayed an extra night, needless to say, we are already planning our trip back in july! we recommend the jasper a thousand times.

Glorified Camping

This is a new hotel and is owned by an Australian guys that clearly has too much money and no accountability. It was bad on two fronts: function and service. First on function - you are basically staying in a tent. There is no ceiling or external walls in the bathroom, so all your neighbours (including those in the restaurant above you) can hear every noise you make and you theirs. Fairly gross really. You can also hear every pot, pan and plate bang and crash above you when the kitchen starts at 630am. You also need to brave the elements to go to the toilet. On Saturday, this meant using the toilet in a monsoonal storm and getting soaked due to the aforementioned lack of walls or ceiling. The lack of sealed doors, windows also meant we were covered in insects when we were trying to sleep. On the service... Well. If you can find a staff member, don't expect much. They basically look at you, then go back to chatting amongst themselves. We sat in the restaurant for 10 mins until we finally had to go and ask for a menu and to order. Then someone told us they had no cold beer but would we like a hot one? All in all, definitely not worth the $$$ per night.
