"Great little guesthouse in Otaru. Easy 20 minute flat walk from Otaru station, or a 10 minute walk up a slight hill from Miniami Otaru. Supermarket, convenience stores, and public bathhouse all within 10 minute walk from the hostel. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Bunk bed was comfortable and spacious. Toilet was a little small and ceiling was quite low in some places, but nothing far from the norm of a traditional Japanese household. Would definitely stay again."

"The staff were amazing! Best price in town. We took the shuttle every morning and then walked back after skiing. The breakfast was free and I decided to skip it but the Ramon restaurant at night was really tasty. Our skis were safe and in a warmed locker. Really wonderful overall."

"Nice hostel in Otaru! Owners are friendly and willing to help out any questions you may have. No kerosene heaters required although there was a small one in my room that I used for a nightstand, not sure why it was there because there was also a wall mounted modern Hitachi ac/heater unit that was quiet and worked perfectly. This was my first hostel stay so the only thing I needed was a larger bath towel that was easily purchased a short walk away. Will be back!"

"check in time is 4 p.m. that 's too late , should be 3 p.m. If you come early you have to stand downstair because the elevator will start to work from check in time or have to wait for customer who has the code to open the main door and climb to the third floor which is the lobby room . No locker to keep your luggage . I stay In private room only have one bed no other facilities in the room , not suitable for the price. "

"I had stayed two nights there, went to hiking in Mt.Yotei , location is perfect for go Yotei. a little big country side but if you drive car, there is not a big deal of it, and it's a peaceful place. staff Ryu is very helpful even though he is busy all the time. He drive me to the mountain access which was early morning. also they offer break first which is very delicious. thanks everyone that gave me a good memories! really want to visit again in winter."

"The room was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and it was good. Unfortunately the breakfast rooms were at least 500 metres away, I was in the South wing and all the breakfast places were in the North wing. Because the hotel is so huge with many different levels and many special areas it was initially difficult to actually find the breakfast rooms. On my last day the breakfast was not available because the South wing closed the day before I left. Pretty...

"We had a fantastic stay at The Chatrium in our 1 bed apartment. The staff were super helpful when needed and the shuttle service to the Gondola and Dot Base was fantastic. The driver took our ski's and poles from us each time securing them on the bus. The bar and restaurants in the hotel were also greaz and convenient. The hotle is located in a perfect position for eating out etc. We had a car and there was free undercover parking that was hassle free. We will def stay here again when we...
