Perfect rural retreat!

Beautiful, spotlessly clean accommodation in a peaceful, rural location. A real ‘get away from it all’ break - yet within an easy drive of many tourist spots.

Host was very pleasant and helpful.
We tried to stay again but they were fully booked for the rest of the summer!

Home from Home
Posted 28 Jun 2023 on HotelsWe were welcomed on arrival. The cottage was much bigger than I thought it would be. All of the rooms were big and very comfortable. The bed was huge and really comfy!
It was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed with lots of lovely little touches to make it feel like a home from home.
It is isolated and very quiet with a lovely little garden at the back which you access from the top stairs. there was also a lovely BBQ area with a bench.
The cottage was cool inside which was nice as we had a hot weekend. There is a wood burner to use if needed.
Would absolutely recommend and would defiantly use again.

The attached property housed the homeowners who were friendly, welcoming, and attentive to our needs. Parking was off the road next to the property.
Set in a quiet section of forgotten Devon in the expansive countryside, along with similar styled properties, this cottage offers an outstanding holiday home. Fully renovated with contemporary decoration, with no low ceilings or beams, it still retains its original charm. The bed was comfortable and a goodnight's sleep was easily achieved.
Think, more like at home, than in a holiday rental.
Definitely a quiet retreat than a party house.

Very peaceful location.
Nice patio area in sunny position. My only minor comment would be nice to have some comfortable garden furniture. The benches got a little uncomfortable after a while. Would definitely stay again and also recommend to family and friends.

Outstanding!

Just the right size (even with 2 teenagers!) and ideally positioned for nearby places for all interests.
Louise & Martin are excellent hosts and apart from making us feel welcome they went extraordinarily out of their way to make up for a very tiny mishap when the dishwasher failed – we could have lived without it but they absolutely insisted and proceeded to move heaven and earth to get a replacement on a bank holiday when no shops were offering one at such short notice – well beyond the call of duty, thank you very much!
And thanks for also accommodating our trailer with bikes! Oh and for nursing our 6 year old when she got a tick from the forest - where else would include free medical assistance?!
Can't recommend enough - look no further, really!
