My room was clean and fresh but the shower cubicle was quite narrow so found it difficult to move around in. However, towels were lovely and soft.

Single room was tiny, very small wardrobe and nowhere to put a case.

We don't normally respond to reviews as we are of the opinion that readers are able to make up their own minds as to which reviews are fair. However, this review is so uncalled for that it requires to be put into perspective. Despite the fact that we go to great lengths to clearly state that we are a B&B, the building is grade 2 listed, we have no lift and no bar, that our rooms are either single, double, upmarket double and family, you clearly did not do your research before booking. When you arrived with your friend and without luggage, you were not impressed with the fact that there was no lift, bar or restaurant, that the single room which you booked was a small single room with only a single bed and that we were not able to provide you with a free upgrade due to high occupancy levels. As we run a happy house, I allowed you (and your friend) to inspect the room (unaccompanied) and offered you a free cancellation should you not be satisfied. A while later you advised me that "the room is just not me" upon which I immediately arranged with Expedia to cancel your booking without penalty. On the assumption that you only inspected the room, we did not attend to the room immediately after you left. When we got round to inspecting the room before opening up the room for further bookings, we found that we were necessitated to redo the bed, clean the bathroom and remove wet towels. You even had the audacity not to flush the toilet! Personally I am of the opinion that our goodwill had been stretched to the limit.

This is a lovely place to stay..I highly recommend it! The hosts are very friendly and helpful and it is very close to everything you may need.
