The room we were assigned was absolutely FOUL!!!!! You could actually smell the odor from the room when stood out 10 feet from the open door! The A/C unit was portable & extremely dirty - the wall unit was broke. The bathroom had mold & there were pieces of the ceiling literally hanging down as if mold had eaten through the area. The area the hotel is in is very sketchy!!! Don’t let the pictures fool you - that is NOT the hotel you drive up to!! When we requested a different room or a refund we were informed that since we booked through Expedia there was nothing they could do….the charge would stand!!! Although they did switch us to a different room the next day it was no better. The room didn’t wreak of foul odor but the jacuzzi tub was something I wouldn’t bath an animal in. It had a ring of smagma around the inside that appeared to be left from the previous 10 guests and had never been cleaned in between!!!! I do not usually post poor reviews or any reviews at all but THIS hotel is beyond disgusting!!!!! There’s definitely more items of nastiness & uncleanliness that I could detail but what’s the point - the hotel won’t rectify the situation….once they have your money then it’s “too bad” for the customer!

Upon checking in to our “non-smoking” room there was an ashtray in the room and a very pungent smoke-stained smell to the room. The walls had nicotine streaks running down them and the room was extremely run down. Paint and varnish on the walls and furniture respectively peeling, visible grime, and cigarette burns in the linens. I am aware this is a more budget friendly type of stay, and having stayed at other Days Inn properties in the past they are typically a basic room but clean and maintained at very least. A budget hotel should at bare minimum be clean and have some pride taken in the maintenance of the rooms. This property was not that way, and definitely not as portrayed in the pictures advertising this property. We were staying with others at the same property during this stay and their room was somehow in worse condition with what appeared to be black mould spots in the bathroom and parts of the roof actually falling off leaving a gaping hole. When we took pictures to show the management they seemed unbothered and unaware that this was the state of one of the rooms. I would not recommend anyone stay here and highly encourage they look else where in the town of Newberry for accommodations or in the surrounding counties.

They have increased boat parking, but they could use more, and I believe they are working on it. When I was out around my boat at 3:30 AM each morning a staff member came by, I liked that. Good camera coverage of the parking lot. Only hotel I feel safe at when fishing Lake Murray. Not the closest but only a 30-minute drive to state park ramp.

It was in much need of repair.It was dirty, it smelled bad and I refused to stay there. We found accommodations elsewhere. Expedia seriously needs to reevaluate the photos of this hotel on their website. They are very misleading.
