There were extra unanticipated charges - for facilities which I did not use. There were no amenities in the room. No showercap, no body lotion, no extra blanket, etc. For the price of the room this was not okay. There was no coffee or tea available in the hotel.

Lovely hotel. There was a problem with one of the two elevators during my stay, but they were working on it! Beautifully decorated and our room was very comfortable and quiet - not always the case in NYC. I’d definitely book again!

Great experience for the price. Learn and well decorated room with a character.
Great location with walking distance to sites of interest.

Pleasantly surprised by my stay and was not familiar with this property prior. Staff was very accommodating and polite. My only qualm would be a random sock on the fire escape, the fridge did not work and no coffee maker.

The staff were all very polite and the facility and rooms were clean and well presented. One elevator was down and the other was painfully slow, leaving us to wait a loooong time or take the steep stairs. There was an unfortunate boiler problem overnight during our stay, which resulted in pounding and drilling right below one of our rooms, so little to no sleep for some of our party. When asked about a compensating discount, all that was said was it was unfortunate and that they'd check with the manager. On the up side, it's a good central location with lots of food and activities nearby. There is some street noise at night, but nothing excessive for a NYC hotel.

We have stayed at multiple hotels in New York City over the years including the Grand Hyatt, the New York Hilton, The New Yorker etc and this tiny gem is the best experience we’ve had in New York City for a week. The staff (particularly Jasmine) were ever so helpful and informative. The room was on the smaller side but clean and housekeeping changed sheets and pillowcases daily. The bathroom was clean and the shower had great hot soft water.
The hotel is on 35th street right in the shadow of Empire State Building. Great location and close enough to Times Square without the madness. Reasonably peaceful at night.
Parking garage was almost right across the street. Five stars all the way
